Fife Sailability Fife Sailability is a Club specifically for those with a disability, it is based at Lochore Meadows Watersports Centre in central Fife.

RYA

We operate as part of the Royal Yachting Association's Sailability initiative, facilitating the exhilaration and freedom that sailing can bring to all. We can mix & match gentle cruising, hands on sailing or formal training to suit individual needs and welcome groups or single participants. Parents and/or carers are welcome to share the experience. We supply essential safety equipment but visitors need to wear clothing suitable for a cool and rainy day. We have a dedicated changing/shower/toilet facility for our disabled participants. We are qualified to transfer sailors with our certified hoists and set high standards in safety and protection of vulnerable persons.

A reminder that the RYA’s Sailability programme evaluation is still open.

The Sport Industry Research Centre at Sheffield Hallam University is looking to hear directly from sailors and participants about their experiences.

The survey takes no more than 10 minutes to complete and is open throughout September and October.

Those who are booked to go on the wheelyboat (picture marked with a tick), that will be going ahead as normal although dress in waterproof clothings as there may be a little splash!

Those booked on wheelyboat, the club day tomorrow is going ahead as normal.

Those who are booked to go on a sailing boat (see pictures with a cross) we have unfortunately had to cancel, the predicted weather conditions mean it isnt safe to sail.

Ann, has texted most of the sailors and Rachel has emailed others.

We hope everyone has received the message.

Thank you in advance for your understanding, safety will always be our priority.

Jenny, one of our volunteers has a badly fractured right ankle which happened while she was out walking in the countryside and unfortunately needed surgery.

While she is sorry she is unable to volunteer for the rest of the season, she was very much cheered up by recieving this picture of Kat sailing in the sunshine yesterday with a buddy.

Everyone at Fife Sailability wishes Jenny a speedy recovery.
