PRUH Maternity Voices

PRUH Maternity Voices PRUH Maternity Voices, Bromley, is an NHS working group led by an independent service user. When do you meet? We meet every 2-3 months, currently online.

PRUH Maternity Voices Partnership aims to improve maternity care and facilities for parents and babies both at Princess Royal University hospital and in the wider community in Bromley. Our work is focused on the feedback we receive from those using PRUH maternity services. We are an advisory group made up of individuals coming together as equals, with a mutual interest in improving maternity servi

ces for anyone giving birth at the PRUH and their families. The group is made up of:

anyone giving birth at the PRUH and their partners
service user advocates, such as doulas and antenatal educators
community organisations and charity representatives
midwives and obstetricians
other healthcare professionals working in maternity services
students
commissioners
members of public health and local council
other strategic partners

Who can join? Any person who has had a baby at the PRUH or at home in the last five years is welcome to join. Please sign up at http://bit.ly/PRUHemail if you would like to join one of our meetings or be added to our mailing list. You can also email us with feedback that you would like us to share with the maternity team. The meeting is advertised on our Facebook and Instagram pages and if you are on our mailing list you will receive an invitation.

✨ MNVP Visit to Harris Birthright Centre ✨

We had a fantastic visit to the Harris Birthright Centre, joined by Consultant Midwife Argyro and Research Midwife Katie for a walk round and in-depth look at the service.

It was a valuable opportunity to gain insights into how the centre runs, the care offered, and the work happening every day to support women and families through their maternity journey. We discussed how the centre combines care with research, and discussed opportunities to strengthen collaboration going forward.

A key focus of the visit was beginning to plan a project to amplify service user voices and build a relationship between the MNVP and the centre. The MNVP are keen that feedback, experiences, and ideas from women and families impact positive change.

💬 Have you had your scans at the Harris Birthright Centre?
We would love to hear about your experience—what went well, and what could be improved. Your voice matters and will help shape future care.

Please share your thoughts in the comments or send us a DM 💙

📊 Understanding Maternity Data at PRUH 👶💙

Did you know the data you see in our posts comes directly from hospital reporting?

📌 Where does it come from?
The data is shared with the MNVP by the Digital Midwife at PRUH. It’s part of mandatory reporting required by NHS England, meaning all trusts collect and submit this information.

📊 What do we do with it?
The MNVP transforms this data into easy-to-understand infographics — making complex information more accessible for families, service users, and the wider community.

⚠️ But here’s what data doesn’t show…
This data reflects clinical and medical activity — not the personal experiences, feelings, or journeys of the women and families behind it.

💬 Your story matters
That’s why we want to hear from you. We’re starting to collect birth stories — from home births to theatre births — to demonstrate positive experiences alongside the data.

💌 If you feel comfortable sharing, please DM us or email:
[email protected]

👩🏽‍⚕️ Want to learn more?
• Midwives are happy to talk through the data
• Parent education sessions explore different birth experiences and options

❤️ By combining data and sharing real experiences, we can work together to improve maternity services for everyone and demonstrate the families behind the data.

✨️Triage 15 Steps✨️

An extremely valuable morning spent on triage to analyse the environment and truly see it through the eyes of the service user. It was also a great opportunity to speak to the women experiencing the triage service on the day.

Report to follow. Watch this space!

DM us with any feedback on your experiences on triage.
