I didn’t stop exercising because it wasn’t helping my IBD…
I changed the strategy.
When I first started, I went all in—training every day, thinking more = better.
But my body quickly reminded me that healing isn’t about hustle—it’s about harmony.
I burnt out, not because exercise was “bad” for my chronic condition, but because I wasn’t allowing space for rest, recovery, and recalibration.
So I adjusted.
✅ I swapped punishment for purpose.
✅ I started listening to my body instead of fighting it.
✅ I learned to train smarter, not harder.
✅ I started trusting the process, even when progress felt slow.
Living with IBD or any chronic condition means fitness isn’t linear—it’s trial, error, adjustment, and compassion.
You don’t need an all-or-nothing mentality to get stronger. You need a plan that supports your body on your good AND flare-up days.
✨ Movement is medicine—but only when prescribed with patience and care.
💬 Have you struggled with this too? Let’s talk about it—drop a 💙 if you’re learning to train with your body, not against it.
