What‘s the difference between fasted and fed state?
Fasted:
Is when we do not eat, for example over night. Fasting is the time in between meals. In a fasted state, the body fuels not directly from food we eat but from our fat storage. Fasting helps loosing weight, level blood glucose, increase insulin sensitivity and detox the body. Evolutionary, it is a natural state humans have been in. It is natural that ketons rise in this phase, as they are the energy bodies. This is natural for everyone (also diabetics!). It is not harmful. What happens in fasting is:
⬇️ blood glucose decreases
⬇️ insulin needs decreases
⬆️ keton bodies rises
⬆️ fat storage rises
Fed:
Is the opposite of fasting, so the time we do eat. The body is digesting and absorbing and flies the body with glucose (not ketons). The issue for many is, that we eat all the time and spend too much time in fed state. It is healthy to give the body a break to regenerate with food e.g. with intermittent fasting. Which means:
⬆️ blood glucose rises
⬆️ insulin needs rises
⬇️ keton bodies decrease
⬇️ fat storage rises
