Grief doesn’t wait for anniversaries or special dates. It shows up out of nowhere…. quiet, heavy, and uninvited. And when it does, all you can do is feel it. ❤️‍🩹

There are moments when no words feel right. When the quiet feels more honest than anything someone could say. Grief doesn’t always want fixing. Sometimes, it just wants space .

If you’ve ever felt the weight of someone trying to comfort you with the wrong words, you’re not alone. 🤎

Some days it’s not just their absence that hurts… it’s how much of me disappeared with them. Grief has a way of changing your reflection, making it harder to recognise who you are without the person you loved. ❤️‍🩹

If you’ve felt this too, you’re not alone.🤍

✨ On Sunday 4th May, we honor the quiet strength of mothers whose arms ache with absence but whose hearts overflow with love.

💟 Bereaved Mother’s Day is a tender reminder that motherhood is not defined by time or outcome, but by the depth of love carried - always, silently, and endlessly.

To every woman grieving a child hoped for, carried, born, or lost - we see you, we remember with you and we hold space for your story. 🤍👼🏼

Time doesn’t heal grief, it simply teaches you how to live with the ache of someone’s absence. In the early days, hearing “time will heal” felt like a sting, because no amount of time could undo the loss. What time really offers is space to slowly accept a reality you never asked for ❤️‍🩹

When people expect you to get “over it” it’s usually because they’ve never experienced loss. Take no notice… You learn to move forward with your grief. You don’t just leave it behind and pretend it didn’t exist. You grow with it. ✌🏽

With Mother’s Day coming up, it’s important to remember that this day isn’t easy for everyone. If you have a friend grieving the loss of their mother, a simple check-in can mean so much. And to the mums who carry the pain of child loss, your love and strength are seen. Let’s be mindful, offer support, and hold space for those who find this day difficult. ❤️

Grief catapults you into being this strong person that’s admired for going through the sh*tstorm that it comes with… but sometimes all you really want is to be held, understood, and allowed to feel vulnerable — not praised for how much you’ve endured. 🌩️

Can you relate?

To witness a loved one take their final breath is an experience that etches itself into your soul, vivid in its weight, yet blurred by the haze of early grief. It is a moment that lingers, resurfacing in quiet reflections, bringing with it a flood of unspoken words and unanswered questions.

You find yourself retracing those final moments, wondering what you might have done differently, what you would have said if only you had grasped the enormity of the change that was about to unfold in your life.

This poem takes me back to the moment I stepped out of the room, leaving my mother behind… the first time I ever left her in a world she no longer breathed in. It’s a feeling beyond words. I remember the weightlessness in my steps, as if I might collapse at any moment. My mind was everywhere and nowhere at once, filled with thoughts I couldn’t hold onto, yet unable to focus on a single one.

I had no idea that with each step I took away from that room, my life was shifting into something unrecognisable..
