I am neurodivergent. I have experienced firsthand the invisible barriers many disabled and neurodivergent people face, especially when it comes to employment.
That’s why I created AbleToWork ♾️
We help to improve access to employment for disabled and neurodivergent people while also helping companies connect with talented individuals who perform and stay.
This mission is deeply personal to me, but it is also much bigger than me.
Right now in the UK:
– 16.8 million people are disabled
– The disabled employment rate is only 52.8%, compared to 82.5% for non-disabled people
– 4.9 million working-age disabled people are not employed, despite many wanting to work
– The economic impact of working-age ill health and disability is estimated at up to £330 billion per year
This is not just an inclusion issue.
It is an economic, social, and human issue.
I’m incredibly excited about the possibility of growing AbleToWork with the support, mentorship, and community that .ldn provides 💡
