Three Surprising Saké Pairings 🍶🍽

Toku Saké works beautifully with a wide variety of dishes and flavours. Here are three of our favourites to get you started:

Fried Chicken: As unusual as it may sound, this pairing works on every level as the umami cuts through the crispy, crunchy deliciousness

Ripe Camembert: A stunning match, with both bringing out the best in each other.

Prosciutto & Melon: This classic Italian dish is perfectly complemented by our Junmai Daiginjo. You'll wonder why more people don't talk about this perfect match.

Which of these pairings will you explore next?

Did you know? Low & No ABV cocktails are the fastest-growing category of mixed drinks, with the market projected to grow by 31% in 2024.

One of the best qualities of saké in mixed drinks is its ability to deliver rich flavour and body despite its lower alcohol content.

Our Junmai Daiginjo, with its delicious umami flavours and enhanced body from amino acids, exemplifies this perfectly.

Three Saké Pairings to Start With 🍶🍽

Saké's versatility extends far beyond traditional Japanese cuisine. With lower acidity, iron, and sulphites compared to wine, saké effortlessly complements a wide range of flavours.
Not sure where to start?

Here are three ideas for saké pairings based on temperature:

1. Cold Saké: Perfect with sashimi, salads, or a light vegetable stir-fry.

2. Lightly Chilled to Room Temperature: Pairs wonderfully with spicy and fried foods.

3. Warm and Hot Saké: Complements umami-rich dishes and Japanese classics like udon and oden.

How long does a bottle of Toku last after opening? 🍶

Our Junmai Daiginjo is actually compatible with wine preservation tool Coravin, meaning that when using their Timeless accessory with a screwcap adaptor, you can perfectly preserve Toku for up to 3 months.

And in more exciting news, some tests led by Greg at Coravin himself are in full swing to check the preservation of our saké for up to 1 year.
