Clarity and Mind Retreats

Clarity and Mind Retreats HI, my name is Charlotte Ahearn and I wanted to introduce myself and my company. I have uprooted my life to the coast to an area I know nobody.

Clarity and Mind Retreats' mission is to fundamentally encourage people to come together to transition, develop and achieve new thought processes to heal and move on in their personal lives. I am technically a 'middle aged woman' and am heading into a whole new world of ‘singledom’ at nearly 52 after a 33 year relationship and now a 'semi redundant mother’ of 2 young adults who have independent li

ves. People ask me the question, why? and I can only tell them I have dreamed of living by the sea for five years and the house and town I found just fitted, it felt right so I took the plunge and I could not be happier. Friends who are still in my life are the ones that count and I choose to be around and I have lost the noise of chaos London brought. Hitting the change and leaving everything I know has lead me to bring my emotions to the forefront, to deal with hard facts about myself I hadn’t wanted to tackle and to take responsibility of my past so I can let it go. It can be a hard road to face but if I don’t do it I can’t move forward so instead of burying myself in hormonal turmoil I am embracing 50 something and deciding to smile. I felt I needed to help other people which led to the creation of Clarity and Mind Retreats to share experiences and to have fun after dedicating our lives to work, partner and family. I believe we are meant to experience the life we have lead for us to lean and develop. we are not taught to believe in ourselves enough and allow others to unknowingly negatively influence us, usually due to their own problems and ‘demons’. Society tells us to ‘get on with it’ without dealing with these feelings so we bury them and this is what resurfaces later in life which , I believe is where we are now, dealing with these hidden issues, People don’t know why they feel the way they do, they don’t necessarily know where to go to find help or are told to go on medication, just ignore and carry on. I am not of this belief, I did that and got very ill, and I just won’t accept it anymore

Reminiscing on my experience at Sandhole Oak Barn in Cheshire, guided by Nadine Bezuidenhout from Artemis Venues.

An old working farm with private venue hire set within 400 acres of the tranquil Cheshire countryside.

Absolutely gorgeous cottages and perfectly set up for weddings, private parties and also very aligned to workshops and retreats.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Combermere Abbey - a truly special place, held by history, nature and the most incredible woman who owns it. Nadine from Artemis Venues spent the day with me touring and exploring these spaces, which was such a pleasure.

The visit also included Old Palace in Chester and Sandhole Oak Barn, which are all gorgeous, exclusive-use venues that are managed by Artemis.

Did you know that Combermere is the only fruit maze in the UK? The fruit maze is set within a 7-acre Victorian Garden. The North Wing sits on the original monastery site along a ley line, marked by a power stone.

Another highlight at Combermere is that part of the historic wing is available for exclusive hire while the adjoining side remains private.

The North Wing also offers a dedicated concierge service - a role that includes full hosting and chef-prepared meals. One would be greeted by a high level of hospitality and care alongside exceptional food.

I stayed in one of the cottages situated in the Stable Yard, which was incredible to have my own space, home from home. I was left with a lovely hamper that allowed me to cook myself a wholesome breakfast and everything was of a 5-star service.

You could still feel the echo of its past. Horse-drawn carriages, stable hands working and the estate alive with movement.

Today, it remains a 1,000-acre organic working farm. This place is extraordinary.

I’m so thankful for this opportunity and a huge thank you to Nadine Bezuidenhout for making it all happen.
