Last month we supported Great Ormond Street Hospital annual Get Active event at Lea Valley Athletics Centre in London.

This special event is hosted by Great Ormond Street Hospital, for children receiving or recovering from treatment and is now an important date in icesupp diary!

The event is designed to aid long-term physical and mental recovery encouraging patients (and their families) to try a wide range of sports including climbing, fencing, archery, wheelchair basketball in a safe and fun environment.

Ultimately, the fun-filled day encourages patients to ‘Get Active’ Lucy Waller, GOSH Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist who organises this event, shared:

“Even a small amount of physical activity can boost children and young people’s physical and psychosocial recovery, and so this event is about giving families the confidence to give new sports and activities a try and hopefully find something they enjoy and love to do”
