Love, at first sight, is a more natural feeling for us humans than a deep, unwavering and unconditional love.
Unlike the latter, a crush happens instantly. A total eclipse of the brain is diligently orchestrated by a splash of hormones and neurotransmitters bringing you to a state of euphoria. As hard as you try, there is nothing you can do to revert it - you will be fighting against your physiology.
Ambitious and cold-blooded sharks of our planet will try to hack their subconscious and understand the root causes of such a disturbance and they will fail. An intimate connection and infatuation are not caused by an educated or calculated decision in your brain based on a set of preferred qualities you have identified for your future significant other. Instead, they are based on a chaotic mess of your memories, films and book characters, childhood experiences, impressions and mind-changing images in your head. You are not falling in love because the chosen one is matching your expectations or your idea of the perfect half. But despite that, you are mesmerised and disarmed by little, insignificant traits of the personality, strokes of the image you see. You are attracted by the tone of their voice, the brightness of their eyes, the energy and passion they speak with, the freckles on their shoulders, the way they raise an eyebrow and the state you find yourself in when near them. You can go further and analyse your instincts from the anthropological perspective or you can surrender and let yourself enjoy the free dose of serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin, allowing the odds of addiction. Utilize this unique, valuable feeling as fuel for your health and creativity, as inspiration and model for the most important relationship in your life - the relationship with yourself.
