More understanding is emerging about the function of mirror neurons’ in the brain

In the early 1990s, researchers studying nonhuman primates discovered a population of brain cells they called "mirror neurons." These specialized brain cells fired when the animal performed an action and also when the animal observed another performing that same action. The discovery of mirror neuro...

Thoracolumbar fascia of patients with low back pain is thickened, stiffened and more echogenic (gives an echo). This indicates that the fascia, not only bones, muscles and ligaments, may be at the root of low back pain

Background In view of new evidence revealing a mechanical and nociceptive role of the thoracolumbar fascia (TLF), it has been suggested to be involved in low back pain. Objective To compare characteristics of the TLF in low back pain (LBP) patients and asymptomatic controls. Methods Two independent....

The remarkable placenta

Before birth, your body builds an organ that exists only for you.
The placenta delivers oxygen and nutrients, removes waste, produces hormones, and helps regulate the pregnancy. Then, after its job is done, it leaves with the birth.
One temporary organ. An extraordinary purpose.

A lovely webinar last night introducing Ian Wright's upcoming seminar, 'Transitions' on October 9th-11th, that can be taken in London or online. We will be exploring key times in the unfolding of Wholeness, and the importance of Craniosacral work to support fundamental change in these transitional times, that can become deeply life enhancing if we can embrace the huge potential that’s available. The early bird rate of UK£370 is available until August 25th. Open to all Craniosacral Therapists and Cranial Osteopaths, and video recordings will be available for review.

We will look in depth at conception, birth, significant transitional times in early childhood, adolescence, adult transitions, menopause and ‘manopause’, illness and dying. Each transition will be explored from a physical, neuroendocrine immune, emotional and spiritual perspective, including ignition process, coherence and relational dynamics, and key formative and embryonic viewpoints.
Themes include:
* When a person becomes ill it creates an opening, a profound shift in their rhythm and life balance. This can be an opportunity for a deep process and growing into Wholeness and Oneness, and a most valued time in life
* Key transitional times in life and their imprints on neuroendocrine immune, emotional and spiritual development
* The huge potential that can be made available by our support and intervention in offering an opportunity for deep change, e.g. in treating brain coherence in adolescence, and when we have a great opportunity to enhance flow states in neurodiversity
* Menopause can be profoundly transformational if supported as a coming into the deeper rhythms of inherent wisdom with its neuroendocrine immune coherence and brain oscillation changes

Venue: Skylight Centre, Islington, London or Online. Please email for payment details. For more details see: https://cranio.co.uk/craniosacral-advanced-courses/transitions/
