Your period is coming… and your skin KNOWS. 👀

Ever noticed that your skin can be perfectly behaved one week…

…and then suddenly decide to cause absolute chaos?

You’re not imagining it.

After ovulation, progesterone rises. For some people, this can contribute to increased oil production and congestion.

Then oestrogen drops, and you may lose some of its skin-supportive and anti-inflammatory effects.

Add PMS stress and cortisol into the mix…

…and suddenly that breakout makes a little more sense.

✨ It doesn't mean your skin is dirty.
✨ It doesn't mean you're doing your skincare wrong.
✨ And scrubbing harder isn't the answer.

Your hormones can influence your skin — which is why understanding when your skin changes can be just as useful as knowing what products you're using.

And this is exactly why I don't believe skincare should always be a one-size-fits-all approach.

💬 Does your skin seem to break out at the same time every month?

And SAVE this post for the next time your skin decides to rebel. 😅

STRESS LIVES IN THE BODY

Ever noticed your shoulders creeping towards your ears when you're stressed?

Or your jaw clenching without you even realising?
Maybe you wake up with a stiff neck.
Your shoulders always feel tight.
You're exhausted, but somehow still can't switch off.

Stress doesn't just affect your mind. Your body feels it too.
It can contribute to:
• Tight muscles
• Headaches
• Neck & shoulder discomfort
• Poor sleep
• Fatigue

Massage won't remove the cause of your stress but it can help ease the physical tension that stress leaves behind and give your body a chance to slow down, breathe and reset.

Because sometimes the most productive thing you can do...
is stop. 💛

If your body has been asking for some attention lately, perhaps it's time to listen.

💆‍♀️ Massage & reflexology appointments available.
📩 DM me to book your session.

Where do YOU hold stress?
Shoulders? Jaw? Neck? Somewhere else? 👇

Water? ✔️
Oxygen? ✔️
Facial? Absolutely. 😂

Because sometimes your skin doesn’t need another product in the bathroom cabinet.

It needs a little time, attention and a proper reset. ✨

When was the last time you had a facial?

👇 Be honest.

MYTH: “If a massage hurts, it must be working.”

Nope. 👀

A good massage shouldn't be something you have to endure.

That “no pain, no gain” mentality doesn't necessarily mean you're getting a better treatment.

Your body can respond to excessive pressure by tensing and guarding, exactly the opposite of the relaxation we're trying to create.

The right pressure?

The pressure your body responds to.
Not the pressure you have to survive.

That's why your massage should never be one-size-fits-all.

I adapt each treatment to your body, your comfort and what you actually need that day.

And yes, you should always tell me if something feels too much. 💛

Good massage is a conversation, not a competition.

Have you ever had a massage where you thought, “This hurts so much… it must be doing something!”? 😂

Apparently it's kinda chic to make time for yourself. 😉

And honestly… we're here for it.

Massage. Reflexology. Facials. Skin treatments.

Not because you have to wait until something is wrong.

Because looking after yourself deserves a place in your routine too. 💛

When was the last time you booked something just for you?

Massage isn't just for sore muscles.

Many people think massage is something you book only when you're in pain.

In reality, massage affects much more than your muscles.

Research shows it can help:
✨ Lower stress hormones
✨ Encourage relaxation by activating the parasympathetic ("rest and digest") nervous system
✨ Improve circulation
✨ Reduce muscle tension
✨ Support better sleep

When your nervous system feels safe, your body is often better able to recover and repair.
Massage isn't about "fixing" you. It's about giving your body the environment it needs to function at its best.

💛 Curious how regular massage could support your wellbeing? I'd be happy to help you find the treatment that's right for you.

Does your skin feel tight after cleansing?

That "squeaky clean" feeling isn't something to celebrate.

If your skin feels tight or stripped after washing, you've probably removed more than just make-up and dirt. You've also disrupted your skin's natural protective barrier.

When this happens, your skin may:
✨ Feel dry or tight
✨ Become more sensitive
✨ Break out more often
✨ Produce even more oil to compensate

Healthy skin shouldn't feel stripped. It should feel comfortable, balanced and calm.

Sometimes the products you're using aren't the problem, it's how often you're using them.

A professional skin analysis helps uncover what's really going on, so you can work *with* your skin instead of against it.

💬 Have you ever experienced that tight feeling after cleansing? Let me know in the comments.

Save this post for your next skincare shopping trip and share it with someone who thinks "squeaky clean" means healthy skin.

Your skin might be ageing faster... because of your blood glucose.

Most people think wrinkles are caused by age or sun exposure alone.

But there's another piece of the puzzle that many people have never heard of...
It's called glycation.

Glycation happens when excess glucose in the bloodstream attaches to proteins like collagen and elastin, the fibres that keep your skin firm, smooth, and resilient.

Over time, this process can make those fibres become stiff and brittle, contributing to:
✨ Fine lines and wrinkles
✨ Loss of firmness
✨ Dull-looking skin
✨ Slower skin repair

Blood glucose spikes can also increase inflammation, which may show up as:
• Redness
• Breakouts
• Increased skin sensitivity
• Slower healing

The exciting part? This isn't about striving for a "perfect" diet or never enjoying your favourite foods.
It's about understanding the connection between your inside health and your outside appearance.

When you support stable blood glucose, you're not only helping your overall health, you may also be supporting healthier, more resilient skin.

That's why my skin consultations don't just focus on products. We also explore nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, and stress because your skin is influenced by so much more than what you apply to it.

Had you ever heard of glycation before today? Let me know in the comments.

Have you noticed your skin changing in your 30s or 40s, even though you're using the same skincare?

You're not imagining it.

Hormonal changes, slower collagen production, reduced skin renewal and a weaker skin barrier all play a role. Understanding why your skin is changing helps you choose treatments that support it instead of fighting against it.

Healthy skin isn't about chasing youth. It's about giving your skin what it needs at every stage of life.

💛 Save this carousel for when your skin feels like it's changing, and let me know in the comments which change you've noticed most.

Does deeper microneedling give better results?

Not necessarily.

Microneedling works by creating controlled micro-injuries that stimulate collagen and elastin production. But when it comes to treatment depth, more isn't always better.

Going deeper doesn't mean faster or better results. It can simply lead to more trauma, longer downtime, and a higher risk of unnecessary damage.

The best results come from choosing the right depth for your skin, not the deepest setting.
That's why every microneedling treatment I provide begins with a thorough skin analysis and is tailored to your individual needs.
