The Many Ways in which Oxalates Damage our Bodies…
If your histamine intolerance symptoms seem to worsen randomly, even when on a low histamine diet, it is well worth considering oxalates as a problem. Oxalates create inflammation during the phase of accumulation or mobilisation at which point histamine levels will rise.
Excess urinary oxalate, whether from primary or enteric hyperoxaluria, can lead to oxalate deposition in the kidneys. Oxalate crystals are associated with renal inflammation, fibrosis and progressive renal failure.
Yeast and fungal infections are linked to high levels of oxalates in the body. Candida organisms have been found surrounding oxalate stones in the kidneys in many people.
Consuming high oxalate foods can cause oxalates to crystallise and clump together into stones causing hazy, cloudy and foul smelling urine.
