Today! Come join us at the NOHep Medical Visionaries Forum at EASL 2026!

Find us at the Public Health Track Hub this morning, 11:45 – 12:15 CEST

The session, featuring speakers Prof Maria Buti and Prof Saeed Sadiq Hamid, will explore practical, innovative solutions to close the gap between diagnosis and treatment, and a new practical guide for medical professionals on test and treat approaches to hepatitis C.

Globally, only 36% of people with hepatitis C have been diagnosed, and of those just 20% have received treatment. With elimination targets fast approaching, accelerating access to testing and treatment has never been more urgent. The cure exists but the barrier is access.

For a future without viral hepatitis, we need everyone to feel supported and free of judgment when engaging with their healthcare providers. Gilead Sciences and WHA’s collaboration, BehinD the SilenCe, helps close the gap between what is said and what remains unspoken for people living with hepatitis B, C, and D (delta).

WHA is proud to have received the support of Gilead Sciences to make possible – and to be working alongside them on BehinD the SilenCe.

Through photography and audio, the campaign brings to life experiences that words alone cannot capture, to reveal the truths and emotions too often left unsaid by people living with viral hepatitis. Together, we are harnessing the transformative power of art to give voice to the unspoken.
