Lion’s Mane…Powders Vs.Tinctures…⚡️

Here at Sunny Farms we use a triple extraction method whereby we leave the Lion’s Mane in alcohol for a minimum of 8 weeks and then perform two hot water extractions.

This process aims to capture a broad spectrum of compounds, including both alcohol-soluble and water-soluble ones.

This results in a more comprehensive and potent extract compared to a simple water or alcohol extraction alone.

Tinctures vs Powders | Strength & Concentration:

Tinctures often have a higher concentration of active compounds compared to powders and tablets as the liquid form allows for more efficient extraction and concentration of bioactive compounds from the Lion’s Mane mushroom.

Bioavailability:

Opposed to powdered Lion’s Mane, the bioavailability of tinctures is significantly higher due to the sublingual absorption route, (the area under the tongue), which is rich in highly permeable blood vessels.

This absorption method allows the active compounds to rapidly enter the bloodstream bypassing the digestive system.

It seems like you can’t look on instagram without seeing a gazillion adverts for Lion’s mane or other functional mushrooms at the moment 🍄

A lot of these new companies popping up are of course just buying powders for china and rebranding them etc, and in a couple of years will most likely move on to the next popular thing

We’ve been using functional mushrooms for almost a decade and growing our own mushrooms for fun years before we started our little farm

It’s the pottering around, experimenting and constant tinkering that we enjoy the most and it brings great joy. Of course the benefits that come with the mushrooms are amazing but for us it’s what goes on behind the scenes too

We’re in no rush take over the world and will just concentrate on making really high quality products that we’ve have 100% control over and can be genuinely proud of 😃

We grow everything ourselves, process the mushrooms ourselves, package the tinctures ourselves and believe it or not, we even wrote this ourselves. How novel eh.

We’ll post more behind the scenes stuff soon but for now, Mush love and have a bloody lovely Sunday 👊

Sunny is Jamie’s (very young) son, hence the name, ‘Sunny Shrooms’.

He may be small but this little ball of energy has already been on plenty of foraging trips & adventures and we hope he grows up with an intense love of nature and a passion to protect it

We felt that the name nicely summarised our approach and hope he doesn’t mind us borrowing it.

As for our tagline, ‘Brighten up your brain’, this incredible mushroom has so many potential benefits for mental health and cognitive protection that we couldn’t think of anything more perfect 🧠
