Happy International Dance Day! 🕺💛

Let’s celebrate by reflecting on our recent collaboration with Kings College London Dance Society 💫

Since 2019, KCL Dance Society has supported icandance through fundraising, volunteering, and performing alongside our dancers. Recently, our dancers enjoyed workshops led by KCL dancers at our young people’s site. Together, we also created a collaborative piece and performed at the KCL Dance Society show!

This partnership is all about bringing dance communities together, sharing creativity, and celebrating inclusive dance - the perfect way to highlight what dance means to us on International Dance Day!

Georgia, you absolute superstar 💛🏃‍♀️

Yesterday, Georgia ran the London Marathon for icandance and absolutely smashed it.

Georgia and her family have been involved with icandance for over a decade through her brother Iulen. We are touched that you not only volunteer but have gone out there and run a marathon for icandance! Georgia raised an incredible £1924 through her hard work. She ran with a time of 5:22, we are so grateful and PROUD!

You’ve inspired more people than you probably realise ✨ Go rest those legs!

This Saturday we’re back for our summer term, refreshed after Easter and ready to move together again 💛 Our dancers are now beginning preparations for our upcoming show on June 27th at The Place.

A huge thank you to John Lyon’s Charity for their core funding and continued support of our sessions. We’re incredibly proud to share that we’ve secured another 5-year grant to keep this work going and growing.

Thanks to our ongoing partnership with English National Ballet, icandance families were invited to enjoy My First Ballet: a workshop and relaxed performance of Cinderella.

From the inclusive movement workshop, to lunch together, to the beautiful relaxed performance, we were truly impressed with the day! Watching our young people explore the story, meet the artists and experience ballet in such an accessible way was special.

A huge thank‑you to English National Ballet for your commitment to making ballet a space where everyone belongs. And thank you to all the families who joined us!

Our icandance Party & Sharing was full of joy, creativity and connection! 🌟

At this community gathering, our young people shared the dance pieces they’ve been working on and we celebrated together with a community party that brought dancers, families and team members together.

A huge thank‑you to St Mary’s Primrose Hill Church for generously hosting us. 🧡

Our dedicated volunteer Georgia is taking on the London Marathon on April 26th!

For over a decade, icandance has been part of Georgia’s family, as it was her brother Iulen's journey with us that inspired her to volunteer. Now she’s turning that inspiration into 26.2 miles of determination to help us continue offering creative, inclusive spaces for disabled children and young people.
