There’s something in Alyina Zaidi’s work that stays with you.

This month, Sabine takes us to Pilar Corrias for our May Exhibition of the Month: Zaidi’s Rewilding. 🌱

Intricate, colourful, and deeply layered, the paintings move between the personal and the mythical.

Childhood memories of gardens in Kashmir and Delhi, the traditions of Indian folklore and miniature painting, and a duality that runs through all of Zaidi’s work: something magical on one side, something a little uneasy on the other. Something always just beyond what we can grasp.

Sometimes the most useful response to a busy, noisy week is to slow down with some art and good company. 🧘🏽🎨🖼️

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. Next week, on 21 May, we’re creating a space to actually feel it.

Our Art & Connect evening in Camden is built around the theme of Rewilding.

We’ll look at Alyina Zaidi’s Rewilding, slow down together, and spend an evening making and connecting.

No art experience needed. Just you, as you are.

What does it mean to find hope in nature, not as a comfort, but as a genuine question? 🌿

That is what we are sitting with this May, as part of Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2026.

We are exploring it through Rewilding, a painting by that holds something magical and something uneasy at the same time.

On 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟭 𝗠𝗮𝘆, 𝟲–𝟴𝗽𝗺 at in London, we are hosting a two-hour workshop using our brain-body-hands approach: slow looking, mindfulness, and simple making. No art skills needed. Just come as you are.

We have written about why this theme matters to us and how we are exploring it through our work.

A seasonal programme of sessions built around art, mindfulness, and human connection, open to corporate and non-profit teams and individuals.

Our seasonal programme features a mix of online and in-person sessions in small groups, each month exploring a new theme through art currently on view across London and the UK.
Our next intake runs 7 May – 23 July.

This is such an amazing new commission by .boswell for 🌟 in Bethnal Green, where Artinfusion occasionally rents office space from the wonderful

Boswell encountered the Black Swimming Association’s statistic that 96% of Black British adults don’t swim, and called out to swimming communities, photographing people underwater, then layering the still images into complex sequences, which are brought to life by passengers’ movement up and down the escalators.

Here is our volunteer, Arezo, going down the escalator, who moved to London from Afghanistan. Migration, grief, intimacy and care are values important to Boswell, and to Artinfusion, too.

As is connection. In Boswell’s hydro-feminist view, all bodies of water are connected, and this new work is conceived as ‘a call to the surface’ – an invitation to a collective consciousness about the world we inhabit. 💦🌏

For International Women’s Day we want to highlight this painting by Colombian-born, NY-based artist titled ‘To weight the stars above us’. ✨

It is such a soft and intimate image of women caring for one another, not there for the gaze of the audience, connected to their femininity and the cosmos.

On IWD, this painting reminds us of the strength of women in relation - in care, solidarity, and sisterhood. 🫂💪

Berrio’s large-scale works are meticulously crafted from watercolour paint and layers of Japanese paper, and she often paints women and children, proposing spaces of refuge or safety inspired by South American folklore and global migration.

Before we plan, organise, or make decisions, we pause. ⏸️

Our team meetings begin with a short creative practice. Sometimes we sit with an artwork. Sometimes we breathe together. Sometimes, like this week, we make. 🔖🖍️

A few sheets of paper. Oil pastels. A few quiet minutes.

Then: Reflection. Sharing. Listening.

We closed this practice with one word each:

❣️Connection.
❣️Growing.
❣️Human.
❣️Honesty.

These moments matter. They remind us why we do this work, and how we want to do it. 😌

Creative practice is our foundation. A support system we return to, and a tool we share with others. 🧡

It’s for London. This year’s theme is celebrating our ‘everyday spaces’ — the informal sanctuaries where connection happens and support begins. 👥💬

🫧 At Artinfusion, our everyday spaces often look like galleries, museums, public art, or even art at home (books, prints, digital art spaces, making art). 🖼️📚 Places you can step into, slow down, engage with art, and feel a little more you again. 🎨✍️

A small, mindful moment with art can gently shift your nervous system, your mood, and your sense of connection and support your mental health. 🧡

If today feels heavy, keep it simple:
🌬️ Step into a space that helps you breathe; a local gallery, a quiet corner at home to look at art or make something, or even your window to notice nature’s shapes, colours, and movement. 🌦️🍃

One small pause can be a starting point.
