Dr Dhavale Talks Menopause

Dr Dhavale Talks Menopause I am a North London mum working locally as a GP, with over 20 years medical experience. I have recently introduced 'Dr Dhavale Talks... Menopause'.

❔ Why?

⭐Menopause talks (online/ Whetstone N20) for women...and men

⭐Local & experienced GP

⭐Women's Health Tutor to medical students

⭐️ Brand Ambassador/ Key Opinion Leader I have a passion for teaching, and I have been involved in teaching and examining medical students for over 15 years. Last year I won the UCL 'Highly Commended for the Excellent GP Tutor Award'. There is a wealth of

information (and myths) about the Menopause which I can never cover in sufficient detail especially as NHS appointments are only 10minutes long. Dr Dhavale Talks... Menopause covers issues such as:
- What the Peri/Menopause is
-What symptoms to expect, how to manage the most common (including at the workplace)
-When to see a Dr/GP
- What treatment options are available (non prescribed and prescribed).

Guess what UCL medical students learnt about today... Gynaecological Prolapse 🌺

⭐️ Why does it happen? Pelvic organ prolapse happens when the muscles and tissues supporting pelvic organs weaken.

⭐️ Common symptoms include:
• Feeling of heaviness or pressure
• Bulge in the va**na
• Urine leakage
• Backache or discomfort

⭐️ Risk factors:
✔️ Childbirth
✔️ Aging & menopause
✔️ Chronic cough/constipation
✔️ Heavy lifting

⭐️ Yes, help is available! Treatment options include:
💪 Pelvic floor exercises
💊 Lifestyle changes
🩺 Pessary
🏥 Surgery when needed

⭐️ You are not alone! It is treatable.
Early consultation can improve quality of life 🌺

🗓️ There are only a few days each
month when pregnancy is most likely. This is called the fertile window:
-the 5 days before ovulation and the day ovulation happens (you can include an extra day or two to be safe).

💦🥚 S***m can live inside the body for up to 5 days, but the egg survives for only about 24 hours.

🩺 To maximise your chances:
• Vaginal s*x with ej*******on (inside) - avoid washing out immediately afterwards
• Have s*x during the fertile window (it doesn't have to be daily)
• In a regular 28-day cycle, ovulation is usually around day 14
• The most fertile days are often days 10-15
• Look for signs like clear, stretchy cervical mucus or use ovulation predictor tests.

If cycles are irregular, having s*x 2-3 times a week throughout the month can help ensure s***m is present when ovulation happens, without the stress of strict timing.

🩺 When to seek medical advice:
• Under 35: after 12 months of trying
• 35 and over: after 6 months
• Earlier if periods are irregular or there's a known fertility issue
It's not just about frequency — it's about hitting the right window.
