Our goal at Hexarad is simple. To help diagnostic systems operate with more confidence, more resilience, and more control.

In North West Anglia, the challenge was familiar: sustained out-of-hours pressure. The conventional response would have been more clinical capacity.

Instead, the focus shifted to how expertise was accessed and distributed.

We introduced the first ever online Hub to manage acute imaging out of hours; the result was 14 hours of clinical time saved over night, every night in the emergency department.

Working with NHS England, we’re now rolling out OptiRad across nine sites in the North East and Yorkshire region.

Managing reporting capacity across multiple sites is complex, and OptiRad was built by radiologists who have managed rotas and felt constraints first-hand.

We were proud to host a roundtable on Scanxiety - the anxiety patients feel before, during, and while waiting for the results of medical scans.​

Dr Alex Simonovic joined us as both an NHS histopathologist and a stage 4 breast cancer patient, a combination that gave her words real weight.​

Her call for better care integration across trusts, GPs, and primary and secondary services came from lived experience of a system that too often leaves patients waiting, guessing, and navigating alone.​

Thank you to Dr Alex and every clinician and patient who spoke so honestly at the table.​

As both an NHS doctor and a stage 4 breast cancer patient, Dr Alex Simonovic brought a uniquely powerful voice to the table. She highlighted the real emotional impact of waiting for scan results, the importance of earlier screening, and the need for better care integration across the healthcare system.​
