Breaking News: Jordan James Parke, known as The Lip King, was found dead at a hotel in London* last week. (*updated)

He was under investigation in connection with the death of Alice Webb, who died in September 2024 following a reported botched BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) procedure.

Authorities have not confirmed a cause of death, and there has been no official determination regarding the outcome of any related investigations.

EU Bans Gel Nail Polishes… Kind of…

Big beauty update! As of September 1, 2025, the EU has officially banned TPO (trimethylbenzoyl diphenylphosphine oxide)—a common ingredient in many gel nail polishes because of its glossy finish and quick-drying magic.

The move comes after TPO was labeled a CMR 1B substance (possibly carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic to reproduction), prompting regulators to remove it entirely from cosmetics. Salons must now dispose of any TPO-based gels immediately.

Why it matters:-
Even though human studies are limited, the EU is erring on the side of caution. The ban covers everything—from production to use—so products containing TPO are simply out.

What you can do:-
☑️Ask your salon: “Do you use TPO-free products?”
☑️Look for brands offering TPO-free alternatives.
Want to be extra cautious? Take a break and let your natural nails breathe—you can still rock a fresh mani, safely.

As the Founder of The Safety in Beauty Campaign, I have never ceased working behind the scenes to improve our industry for everyone.

On June 25th, I wrote to my local MP, Blake Stephenson, to urgently raise the ongoing and pressing need for regulation within the aesthetics sector. I am sharing this today following the response I received — and I urge you to expect a government announcement on the matter next Thursday.

To every individual committed to making our industry safer: thank you. Your efforts matter.

This is not about who should or should not be practising aesthetics. The real question must be:
“How do we ensure that anyone working in aesthetics is doing so to the highest possible standards of safety?”

Let’s stay focused, stay united, and continue to push for the safe, ethical future our industry deserves.

IMPORTANT AESTHETICS UPDATE

Starting 1st June 2025, nurses and midwives will no longer be permitted to remotely prescribe botulinum toxin or other injectable treatments, such as weight loss medication.

A face-to-face consultation will now be mandatory before issuing any prescriptions for non-surgical cosmetic procedures.

This regulatory change is a major step forward in promoting patient safety, clinical accountability, and raising standards in the aesthetics industry.

This here, Is what grew in a Petri dish after just a few days.
The open plate was placed in an enclosed hand dryer of a public bathroom for a total of 3 minutes. Yes 3 only.

This is the several strains of possible pathogenic fungi and bacteria that you’re swirling around your hands, and you think you’re walking out with clean hands?

Maybe it’s time we reconsider hand dryers?
