Why do men really avoid their doctors appointments?

1. Unlike women, there are no routine healthcare screening programmes for younger men. This means many men go through life without ever “needing” to see a professional, which can lead to fear of interacting with healthcare services.

2. A lot of men might be reluctant to seek help for medical conditions due to fear of what might happen to them.

3. Some men feel a sense of weakness by admitting they have a condition, by seeking help, or by the side effects of treatments.

Your health is your biggest asset - looking after it is a strength and not a weakness! 💪🏼

Many men don’t realise they have options beyond surgery or radiotherapy — and one of the most exciting is focal therapy.
Instead of treating the entire prostate, focal therapy targets only the area where the cancer is. Think of it as precision medicine — treating the tumour while protecting the healthy tissue around it.

Why men are choosing it:
✅ Significantly lower risk of urinary and sexual side effects
✅ Faster recovery compared to traditional treatments
✅ A personalised approach tailored to your cancer, not a one-size-fits-all solution

The techniques we use include:
🎯 HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound)
🧊 Cryotherapy
⚡ Irreversible Electroporation (NanoKnife)

HOWEVER

focal therapy isn’t for everyone.
Getting it right requires careful patient selection, high-quality MRI imaging, and precise biopsy mapping. The goal is always the same: maximum cancer control with minimum impact on your quality of life.

For the right patient, it can be life-changing.

Think you might be a candidate? Don’t guess — speak to a specialist who can review your case properly.

Are urinary symptoms always a sign of something serious?
While they’re often nothing to worry about, don’t be afraid to ask your healthcare provider about them.

“Can I have an MRI for prostate cancer screening?

It’s one of the most common questions - and important - questions we hear from our patients.

The short answer? Maybe.

In certain cases, MRIs can be really helpful and change how we diagnose and treat prostate cancer.

Modern prostate cancer assessment often starts with a multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) which allows us to review images of the prostate in great detail and helps us identify areas that may need closer attention.

An MRI scan also:
👉🏼 help detect aggressive cancers earlier
👉🏼avoid unnecessary biopsies
👉🏼help with more targeted and accurate biopsies when needed
👉🏼help us to plan the right form of treatment such as focal therapy and robotic surgery

An MRI has transformed prostate cancer diagnostics - making the pathway more precise, personalised and less invasive.

However, MRI scans aren’t one size fits all. While MRIs is usually recommended after an elevated PSA blood test, it’s not yet a blanket screening test and isn’t suitable is all.

Erectile Dysfunction is more common than you think—and if you’ve experienced it yourself, you’re not alone. 🤝

The good news? Exercise is a powerful tool for your health. Even 30 minutes, 4-5 times a week, can make a meaningful difference in managing ED! 🏃‍♂️

However, if problems are persistent or something simply doesn’t feel right, we recommend booking an appointment with a specialist. Taking that first step is the best way to get the answers you deserve.
