Some of your best sessions will be when you’re tired believe it or not.

We live in a data driven world now where wearable devices constantly monitor every aspect of our lives. We let them dictate our steps, sleep, stress, intensity, heart rate etc.

Just remember though we can make decisions for ourselves and if you can get through it you’ll feel fu***ng amazing after some of your hardest training sessions.

Apparently this is called yapping.

I call it talking to a phone explaining how I structure 2-4 full body strength sessions per week to try and prioritise my health.

You can call it whatever you want but hopeful this gives you an idea of how to make use of your time when it comes to your own training.

These take me ages to make so if you even read this far please give this a like, share or a thumbs up for all of my efforts 👍🏼

This is me just starting.

I hear it a lot.

“I’ll get fitter before I start”
“I’ll lose a bit of weight before I start”
“I’m really busy so I’ll start in a few weeks”

I’m urging you to just start. It doesn’t need to be perfect, it’s okay to get it wrong, it’s okay to feel uncomfortable and it’s okay to want to avoid it.

It’s okay to feel like this and that’s how I feel posting this. But I thought f**k it I’ll just start and I’m glad I’m just about to hit ‘post’ and put this in front of my peers.

So please, just start.

Just a guy trying his hardest to build the best community he can.

I feel very passionately about what I created almost three years ago and it’s grown to become something really beautiful. This is something AI can’t provide and it’s allowed people to thrive and support one another.

Over time I’ve seen a group of strangers become the people that support one another in ways I can’t describe and I’m super grateful.

This is why community matters so much in fitness.

It’s not only a group of people to challenge you but it’s also a group of people who all want to better themselves.

This is why I really like classes as it brings people together and it can create an amazing support network of people who genuinely want you to succeed.

I run small, welcoming strength and circuit classes in a private local studio. A coach lead relaxed space where neighbours come together to feel fitter, stronger and more energised.

🗓 Class times:
• Monday 12pm - Full Body Strength

No pressure, no egos. Just a lovely group of people encouraging each other every step of the way.

🎇 HNY 🎇

Please remember that January 1st doesn’t mean you have to go all guns blazing looking for big changes.

If you weren’t doing it before the likelihood is you won’t be able to sustain it if you start now. Aim for small consistent changes that don’t overwhelm you and in a year you’ll thank yourself.

🤷🏻‍♂️⏰

If you’ve ever started your morning trying to cook with a toddler who refuses to be put down for a single moment you know exactly what I mean.

Saying we all have the same 24hrs in a day is just a really sh*tty way of trying to guilt you into things.

Remember a lot of the trainers you see online tend to be young, maybe live at home or with friends or partner, possibly get food prep meals, can train in a gym at random times.

Jay’s top tips for exercise!

In my experience the biggest part of training my clients is teaching them how to facilitate exercise to fit into their lifestyle. Everyone is different and there is no one size fits all as much as some trainers would have you think.

Waiting for it to be less busy never really happens so knuckling down to carve out that time for you is really important.

My best advice would be to start off small, keep some sort of routine as best you can and try and stick to it. Make it almost too easy to accomplish and gradually increase over time if you’re able to.
