For years, many people with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue were dismissed as “just anxious” or “just depressed.”
But we now know serotonin is involved in much more than mood.
It influences pain signalling, sleep, fatigue, nervous system regulation, inflammation and sensory processing — which is why researchers continue exploring its role in fibromyalgia and ME/CFS.
That doesn’t mean fibro is “all psychological.”
It means the brain, nervous system, immune system and body are deeply connected.
