A busy mum of four, business owner and triathlete, Jo's life changed in seconds when she was loading a sports bag into the boot of her car at her children's school, and another vehicle rolled forward, crushing her between the two cars. Her children, then aged two, three, five and 10, witnessed the accident.

The impact of a serious injury extends far beyond the moment it happens. For Jo, it affected her independence, her confidence, and her entire family. But with determination, rehabilitation, and the support of her Canine Partners assistance dogs, Derby and Barry, she has rebuilt her life and rediscovered her sense of purpose.

"Derby and Barry have given me the confidence to reconnect with the world, my independence, and a renewed sense of purpose. Through every challenge, they've been my constant โ€“ helping me see beyond my disability and giving me myself back."

This , weโ€™re celebrating Rob, a dad who got a second chance at being fully present for his son thanks to Canine Partners ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ

After a devastating accident at just 24 years old left him with a traumatic brain injury and life-changing disabilities, Rob faced years of rehabilitation and uncertainty. As his confidence faded, everyday outings and family adventures became increasingly difficult.

Everything changed when he was partnered with his assistance dog, Merredge.

โ€œMy son was born around the time of my accident, so I never had the chance to be a hands-on dad. Before Merredge, I hesitated to take my son out. But with him by my side, I could say yes.โ€

Thanks to Merredge and now his successor dog Eddy, Rob regained the confidence, independence and freedom to enjoy trips to the park, family days out, and the moments that matter most.

Come along with Dog Ambassador Ollie on a trip to Birds Bakery ๐Ÿ’œ

Back in 2023, Birds Bakery supported a fundraising initiative to name one of our puppies and chose the name 'Ollie' after Lesley Birdโ€™s dog.

We recently stopped by the Ashby store to catch up with Team Birds and put their dog biscuits to the test. Judging by Ollie's reaction, they passed with flying colours ๐Ÿ˜‹

This week, Assistance Dog Trainer Steph took Tilly to the train station for some important exposure training, helping her get used to new sounds, smells, and environments.
