🎓 GCSEs / A-Levels are nearly at an end 🎓

But if you're feeling a bit anxious, flat, or unsettled- that's completely normal. Post-exam anxiety is real, and you're not the only one feeling it, you’re not alone!

To those who experience anxiety and post exam anxiety check out the tips below ⬇️

Here are some gentle ways to help calm your mind and reset plus why they work:

🌿 1. Take a Walk, No Pressure
Moving your body helps release built-up tension and boosts your mood by increasing serotonin the brain’s “feel-good” chemical. Fresh air also refreshes your mind and reduces stress hormones.

👉🏻2. Try the 5-4-3-2-1 Technique:
🟢 5 things you can 👀 see
🟢 4 things you can ✋ touch
🟢 3 things you can 👂 hear
🟢 2 things you can 👃 smell
🟢 1 thing you can 👅 taste
This grounding exercise helps bring your attention back to the present moment, stopping worries about the past or future. It calms your nervous system and reduces racing thoughts.

🎧 3. Put on Your Favourite Music
Listening to music you love can lower stress hormones and increase dopamine, which helps you feel happier. It also provides a positive distraction and an emotional outlet.

🌈 Do something today your future self will thank you for.

It doesn’t have to be huge. Drink that extra glass of water. Go for a walk. Start that book. Make the call. Apply for the opportunity. Say no to what drains you and yes to what moves you forward.

Your future self isn’t some distant stranger—it’s you, just a little further down the road. Make their life easier. Give them something to smile about.

What small step are you taking today toward the life you want?

🌊 Riding the Wave of Anxiety – You’re Not Alone 🌊

Anxiety can show up in so many different ways: a racing heart, constant worry, a need for control, avoiding certain situations, or feeling like your mind won’t stop spinning. The truth is, anxiety doesn’t look the same for everyone, and that’s okay. We are all wonderfully unique, and so are our emotional experiences.

At Clarity Therapy, we want to remind you:

💙 You don’t need to justify your anxiety.
💙 You’re not “too sensitive” or “overreacting.”
💙 You have full permission to feel what you feel.

✨ Here are a few gentle tips to ride the anxiety wave:

🔹 Pause and Breathe – Inhale slowly for 4 counts, hold for 6, exhale for 8. Repeat.

🔹 Name It – “I’m feeling anxious right now.” Naming your emotions takes away some of their power.

🔹 Ground Yourself : Name 5 things you can see

🔹 Give Yourself Grace – It’s okay if today just means getting through. You’re doing enough.

🔹 Reach Out – You don’t have to carry this alone. Talking to someone can make all the difference.

🌈 Remember: anxiety is a response, not a weakness. And healing isn’t about getting rid of emotions - it’s about learning how to move through them with care.

📞 If you or someone you love needs support, our therapists are here to help — with compassion, understanding, and zero judgment.

The Act of Trying Is a Quiet Form of Strength

“You’re still trying — and that means you’re still strong.”

Trying is often undervalued in a world obsessed with visible results. But the effort to keep going, to get up and face another day, to do the inner work... that is resilience.

It takes strength to:

Keep showing up despite setbacks

Seek growth when you feel stuck

Reach out when you need support

One of the most impactful choices - therapy. Not because you've hit rock bottom, but because you want better, better clarity, better emotional tools, and a better relationship and understanding of yourself.

Working with clients reminds me daily that strength doesn’t always roar. Sometimes, it looks like setting boundaries. Sometimes, it's taking a deep breath before a hard conversation. And often, it's simply not giving up on yourself, even when you're tired.

🔹 If you’re trying, you’re already doing more than you think.

📌 My encouragement to you:
Keep going. Keep reaching. If you’ve been thinking about getting support, whether it’s talking to a therapist, coach, or even just opening up to someone you trust, take that step. It’s not a sign of weakness. It’s a decision made in strength.

🌈 When to Consider Therapeutic Support

Mental health is just as important as physical health. But knowing when to seek help can be difficult. Here are some signs that you or someone you care about may benefit from professional support:

⭕️Emotional Signs

🔹Persistent sadness, anxiety, or hopelessness

🔹Intense mood swings or frequent irritability

🔹Feeling numb or emotionally detached

⭕️Mental Signs

🔹Racing thoughts or constant worry

🔹Difficulty focusing or making decisions

🔹Negative self-talk or self-doubt

⭕️ Behavioural Signs

🔸Withdrawing from friends or daily life

🔸Disrupted sleep or eating habits

🔸Relying on alcohol or substances to cope

⭕️ Physical Signs

▪️Unexplained aches, fatigue, or tension

▪️Panic attacks or frequent restlessness

▪️Feeling drained even after resting

▪️Sometimes everything looks fine on the outside - but it doesn’t feel fine inside.

✅ Seeking support is a strong, courageous step. You don’t need to wait for a crisis to talk to someone.
