You have been warned 🤣

If you hang around it is highly likely that you will start to feel more relaxed and grounded and will learn techniques to help your nervous system relax.

Im also a Cognitive Behavioural hypnotherapist so you can be sure that I will also help you switch your mindset up and show you how using positive language can make a huge difference.

Breathwork isn't emotional because something's wrong with you. It's emotional because you've finally let your nervous system rest.

We spend so much of our lives stuck in fight-or-flight mode with deadlines, notifications and everyone needing something from us. That our bodies genuinely forget what "safe" feels like.

Slow, deep breathing directly stimulates the vagus nerve, which tells your nervous system to switch from "danger" mode into "rest and digest" mode. Your heart rate slows, your muscles soften, your body finally gets the memo that it's allowed to stand down.

So when that happens and your system realises it can finally let go, it can show up as being emotional, shaking or a wave of relief you weren't expecting. That's not you falling apart. That's you coming back to yourself, one exhale at a time.

You don't need to be "broken" to benefit from this. You don't need a crisis, a breakdown, or a reason. You just need to breathe.

“So you don’t do the paramedic thing anymore?” 🚑

I get asked this ALL the time… and the answer is I absolutely do 😂

I’m currently contracted to work 3 shifts a month, but in reality I usually do around 5, and for now, that works really well.

I worked bloody hard to become a paramedic and to get to the position I’m in now, where I have flexibility, years of experience and a whole load of skills and knowledge that transfer into pretty much everything else I do. So keeping up my professional practice and my registration is still important to me… for now.

There’s the practical side too. Building a business takes time. I’m incredibly grateful that I have a job that allows me to balance the finances while I build mine. I know I’m lucky to have that option but equally, I’ve worked really hard to have that option.

Will I be a paramedic forever? No.

My long-term plan is still to eventually let my registration lapse and fully move on from this chapter, but I don’t feel the rush to do that anymore.

If anything, since doing the work I do now, my whole outlook on my paramedic role has changed.

I understand stress differently. I understand the nervous system differently. I understand people differently. And probably most importantly, I understand my own response to the job differently.

It’s funny because for a while I felt like I desperately needed to get away from it. Now I can go in, do my shifts, appreciate the bits I still love about it, come home… and carry on building what’s next.

And obviously spend my shifts trying to convince emergency workers to give “this breathing lark” a go 😂

Because God knows, if there’s a group of people whose nervous systems could do with a bit of support, it’s us lot. 🫠😂

So yes… still a paramedic 🚑
Still building my business 💜
And currently very grateful that I get to do both.

For now 😉

"She thinks breathing is the cure for everything".

Actually, the research backs me up.

Controlled breathing directly stimulates the vagus nerve, the main communication line between your body and your nervous system. Slow, deliberate breaths shift you out of fight-or-flight (sympathetic) and into rest-and-digest (parasympathetic), measurably lowering heart rate, cortisol, and blood pressure.

This isn't new information. Ancient contemplative traditions have used breath control for millennia. What's changed is that modern neuroscience can now show us why it works through heart rate variability studies, fMRI scans, and vagal tone research.

We invest heavily in tracking our biology with watches, supplements and apps. All while overlooking one of the most accessible, evidence-backed tools we already have built in.

Breathwork isn't a trend. It's applied physiology.

👉 Save this if you needed the reminder to breathe properly today and drop a 🫁 if you want a simple vagus nerve breathing technique in your DMs.

Did you know I offer 1 - 1 sessions for Breathwork and hypnosis?

My 1-1 60-minute sessions starts with you. What's happening in your life right now, how you're responding to it and what you'd like to be different.

We'll uncover the patterns happening across your mind, body, emotions and behaviour, before using a personalised blend of breathwork, mindset techniques, NLP, cognitive behavioural approaches and hypnosis-based practices to begin creating a more helpful response.

Imagine leaving with a clearer understanding of yourself, a practical tool you can actually use, and the feeling that perhaps you're more capable of creating change than you realised.

My September availability is now live on my website and if you book before 31st August you can get £15 off using the code RESILIENCE.

Tap the link in my bio to book in with me. Face to face or online sessions available. I do have a small number of evening appointments available on request.

Get in touch if you cannot find a suitable session.
