Last week, Vicente and I had the privilege of attending a two-day ACT for Trauma training course in Camden, London, led by none other than Russ Harris – one of our favourite authors, trainers, and a huge influence on our counselling practice.

What a brilliant two days! The training was engaging, practical, thought-provoking, and full of valuable insights into applying Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) when working with trauma. Russ has an incredible ability to make complex concepts accessible, bringing together compassion, humour, and clinical expertise in a way that inspires confidence and learning.

We came away with new ideas, renewed enthusiasm, and plenty of tools to integrate into our work with clients.

A huge thank you to Russ Harris for such an excellent training experience. We’re looking forward to putting what we learned into practice.

I offer Brief Intervention Sessions using FACT (Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) — a practical, evidence-based approach designed to help people move forward quickly and effectively.

FACT focuses on helping you manage difficult thoughts, emotions, stress, anxiety, relationship struggles, and life challenges in a way that builds resilience and psychological flexibility. Rather than getting stuck fighting thoughts or feelings, we learn how to respond differently and reconnect with what truly matters to you.

These sessions are supportive, collaborative, and focused on creating meaningful change — even in a short period of time.

Sometimes one conversation can be the start of things feeling lighter.

If you’d like to find out more or book a session, feel free to message me privately. 💚

Like the photo and comment "MIND" and we will send you a message with a link to a free PDF of this resource.

When your mind will not switch off, you do not need answers straight away. You need words that help you slow down.

This poster shares simple, grounding phrases that young people and adults can use when anxiety rises, thoughts spiral, or emotions feel too much. It supports calming the nervous system, creating mental space, and responding rather than reacting in stressful moments.

These statements are especially helpful during anxiety, overwhelm, emotional overload, burnout, or periods of high pressure. They work well for teenagers and adults who struggle with overthinking, self criticism, or feeling stuck in their head. The language is clear, reassuring, and easy to return to when thinking feels chaotic.

Useful at home, in education settings, therapy rooms, workplaces, or wellbeing spaces. Sometimes reading one steady sentence is enough to get through the moment.

Sunlight isn’t just good for your body, it’s a powerful medicine for your mind. Your mental health deserves sunlight, it’s not a luxury, it’s a need. A few minutes in the sunshine each day can lift your mood, reduce stress and help regulate your sleep; nature’s gentle therapy.

Movement is a powerful way of expressing emotions stored in your body. Somatic therapy incorporates body-oriented modalities such as breathwork, and meditation to support mental healing. In addition, somatic experiencing therapy sessions include both talk therapy and mind-body exercises.
