Outdoor swimming can offer even more, with time spent in nature helping people feel calmer, more connected and present ๐ŸŒฟ

With participation in outdoor swimming more than doubling in recent years, more people are discovering the wellbeing benefits of our blue spaces ๐Ÿค

If you get the chance to see this film as it tours the UK - itโ€™s enjoyable & definitely worth a couple of hours of your time. Following the story of Jo Bateman & how she became an โ€˜accidental activistโ€™ after deciding to take her local water company to court due to constant sewage overspills in her local area. ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŠโ€โ™‚๏ธ Our blue spaces should NOT be BROWN ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ’ฉ

We are so proud at The Blue Space Project to be working in partnership with Portsmouth University and the NHS on another wave of fantastic OUTSIDE research! Helping those with a diagnosis of depression gain confidence in open water and have FUN!

We are hoping this research project project will provide evidence and pave the way for open water swimming to be recommended as a positive health intervention via the GP & Social Prescribers in the not too distant future!

Being NEAR water is almost as good as being IN it! ๐ŸŒŠ
