My last year in my twenties… Christ!
This birthday feels different because, as well as turning 29, this year marks FIVE YEARS of Face Addict Aesthetics. Five years since I took the biggest gamble of my life — and the one that’s paid off the most.
I remember being £3,000+ into my overdraft wondering how I’d ever get out of it. Fast forward five years and I’m running a six figure business, our academy has students booking months in advance, and I’m beginning the process of buying my first home whilst also now taking on staff.
It’s mad how much your life can somersault in five years. But 28 definitely wasn’t all business milestones, holidays and nice Instagram pictures.
I lost my first baby through miscarriage. I walked away from a toxic relationship. And just for good measure, got bloody pneumonia too. They say bad things come in threes, so hopefully my membership has officially expired. 🤣
It’s been one of the hardest years of my life, but also the year I’ve grown the most.
I’ve learnt resilience. I’ve learnt when to walk away. I’ve learnt that something not working out how you imagined doesn’t mean your life isn’t working out.
I’m still fiery, stubborn, impatient and want everything yesterday, but I actually really like the woman I’m becoming.
Five years ago, not many people believed I’d get here.
I did. And my mum did.
If my twenties have taught me anything, it’s never to let somebody else’s limitations become your own. If someone thinks your dreams are unrealistic or you want too much from life, let them.
You don’t have to listen.
So here’s to 29.
Five years of Face Addict. The beginning of buying my first home. More travel, more experiences, more growth — and hopefully a slightly less dramatic year!
28 gave me some of my highest highs and lowest lows, but I’m leaving it more certain than ever that the best parts haven’t happened yet.
Let’s see what 29 brings. 🥂
