Despite the lack of posts, I'm here, tending quietly to my fire, following the pull to share a recent adventure back to Lendrick Lodge | Spiritual Retreat Centre in Scotland of firewalking, friendship and frog medicine.
Lendrick always holds the magic, and this firewalk fell the day after the new moon eclipse. I love the opportunity of working with the energies of eclipses, seeing them as soul-evolution points on our journeys.
When we walk the fire, we hold an intention, and the fire, our ally in this ancient ceremony, aids us.
Sitting in my hotel room, gazing at the view of Ben Ledi (an ancient meeting point that clans would travel too) I had the knowing that I needed to walk the fire to honour, mark and help the completion of a big theme that's been moving through me for the past 18 months, and in completing, to also walk into miraculous new beginnings. There is a beauty when we gather togehter and offer our prayers, in that we are not just offering up this prayer for ourselves, but for all of us. There is a surprising connection in speaking a prayer and hearing it land with others, an "oh, you too" moment. This is the connection. The prayer ripples out.
After the firewalk I stood at the centre of the stone circle, upon the stone of utterance. I love standing there and speaking my truth to the trees that stand tall, listening, to the gentle breeze that blows, receiving the energy of my utterance. I looked down, and by my bare foot was a tiny baby frog.
The next day I meet up with Agnieszka Mizia and we enjoyed (in my humble opinion) the best vegan breakfast at , received the miracles literally falling from above which we then wore in our hair as we mooched, pootled and caught up around Glasgow's west end. There is something special about friendships that are alive over miles of distance, and for this I am grateful, to all of my non-local friends, shenanigan-makers and travelling companions of the heart.
A couple of days later, leaving my flat to go to work, I was met with a frog on the steps. I've never seen a frog here in all the time I've lived here. They're not even particularly easy steps for a frog to navigate.
Magic is afoot.
