🎉🏡 **What an Incredible Care Home Open Week!** 🏡🎉

As we bring **Care Home Open Week** to a close, we are reflecting on a truly wonderful week filled with friendship, laughter, learning, celebration and unforgettable memories. ❤️✨

Throughout the week, our residents enjoyed a fantastic variety of themed days and activities, each designed to promote wellbeing, connection and joy. 🌟

💬 **Communication Day** reminded us of the importance of staying connected and understanding the different ways people communicate, especially those living with dementia, sight loss or hearing impairments. We were delighted to welcome Catherine and her wonderful guide dog from Guide Dogs UK. 🦮❤️

💆‍♀️ **Ladies Day** gave our ladies the opportunity to relax, be pampered and enjoy some well-deserved self-care with flower arranging, hand massages, manicures and foot spas. 🌸💅✨

👔 **Men's Day & Father's Day** celebrated the amazing gentlemen in our home with gifts, games, social time and plenty of smiles. 🎁💙🎯

🎤🎶 Our **Open Week Party** brought everyone together with live entertainment, dancing, delicious food and lots of laughter. Seeing residents, families and staff enjoying themselves together was truly special. 🥳🍔🎵

🌼☕ We also took time to focus on relaxation, wellbeing and sensory experiences, from flower arranging and wellness cafés to calming sensory activities that encouraged comfort, engagement and meaningful moments. 🌈🫖💖

These activities are so much more than just fun—they help promote confidence, independence, communication, social interaction and emotional wellbeing. Most importantly, they create opportunities for residents to make memories, build friendships and continue enjoying fulfilling experiences every day. ❤️🏡

A huge **THANK YOU** to our incredible residents, families, friends, volunteers and dedicated staff who helped make the week such a success. Your support, enthusiasm and kindness made every day special. 🌟👏

🌟 Care Home Open Week 2026 – What a Fantastic Start! 🌟

Wow, what a busy and heartwarming week we've had already! 💖

Our residents have enjoyed a wonderful variety of activities, from exploring sensory experiences 👃👂👀✋👅 to taking a trip down memory lane through music 🎶, classic films 🎬, favourite hymns 🙏 and reminiscing sessions that sparked so many treasured conversations and smiles 😊.

Yesterday was extra special as our little friends from Debutots Worcestershire joined us for our Sports & Fitness Day ⚽🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️. They certainly brought the energy, enthusiasm and plenty of laughter! 😄 Together we enjoyed football, exercise, movement activities and lots of fun, helping to get everyone active and our blood pumping. ❤️💪

The magic didn't stop there – sharing lunch together was truly wonderful 🍽️💕. Seeing different generations connect, laugh and spend quality time together reminds us just how important these moments are.

Care Home Open Week is a fantastic opportunity to open our doors, celebrate life within our home, build connections with our local community and showcase the amazing care, companionship and opportunities our residents enjoy every day. 🏡💜 It's about creating meaningful experiences, strengthening relationships and making memories together.

A huge thank you to all the families who have joined us this week 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💐. Your support, visits and involvement mean so much to our residents and help make these occasions even more special.

And of course, a massive thank you to our incredible staff team 🌟👏. Their dedication, creativity, kindness and hard work make events like these possible and ensure every day is filled with care, laughter and meaningful moments.

We're excited to open our doors and welcome everyone to **Wishmoor Care Home's Care Home Open Week 2026** from **15th – 21st June**! 🎉

**What is Care Home Open Week?**

Care Home Open Week is a national celebration that brings care homes and communities together. It provides an opportunity to showcase the wonderful care and support provided to residents, challenge misconceptions about care home living, and strengthen links with local people, organisations and businesses.

At **Wishmoor Care Home**, we're proud to be part of this fantastic initiative and have planned a **jam-packed week full of activities, fun, wellbeing and community spirit!**

🌿 **Sensory Day** – Gardening, sensory experiences, refreshments and a mobile farm visit.

🎶 **Reminiscing Day** – Memory activities, favourite hymns, classic films and sharing treasured memories.

⚽ **Sports & Fitness Day** – Football, exercise sessions, healthy snacks and promoting active lifestyles.

🕺 **60's Disco Party Day** – Live entertainment, dancing, themed dress-up and lots of fun.

💬 **Communication Day** – Exploring different ways of communicating, video calls, communication aids and a special guest from Guide Dogs.

💅 **Ladies Day** – Pampering, manicures, flower arranging, relaxation and wellbeing activities.

👔 **Men's & Father's Day** – Gifts, games, social clubs and celebrating the amazing men and fathers in our lives.

Hi All,
I desperately need people to join me on a fortnightly basis on a Monday afternoon in Malvern.

I have been running Joining Generations With Imagination at the wonderful Blossom House - Residential Care Home for over seven years and it is now at risk unless some more families would like to join us.

The residents are amazing and get so much pleasure from having the children visit on a regular basis. They look forward to it so much.

Please do get in touch if this is something you’d like to participate in.

The sessions are 1.45-2.30, suitable from birth to 4 years and are FREE of charge.

We are there tomorrow if anyone would like to come and give it a try.

🍓☀️ **What a wonderful few weeks we've had!** ☀️🍓

We've been making the most of the sunshine and enjoying lots of exciting activities and outings together. 😊

🍓 Our garden has rewarded us with a fantastic strawberry harvest, and everyone was delighted to see (and taste!) the fruits of our hard work.

🎭 We enjoyed another magical visit to the **World's Smallest Theatre**, where we were captivated by a unique puppet performance and fascinating storytelling. What a special experience! ✨

💙 For **Dementia Awareness Week**, residents took part in a creative art session, producing beautiful forget-me-not artwork, the symbol of dementia awareness. It was a wonderful opportunity to express creativity while raising awareness and showing support for those living with dementia. 🌼🎨

🎐 We also got busy making our own wind chimes, creating colourful decorations that will bring both beauty and gentle sounds to our outdoor spaces. 🌿✨

🎶 Music has continued to bring smiles to everyone's faces. We had a fabulous time singing along and dancing at the **Showaddywaddy** concert, followed by an uplifting **Thank You for the Music** show that had everyone tapping their feet. 🎤💃🕺

⛪ We also enjoyed a lovely visit to the church, sharing good company and taking in the beautiful surroundings. ❤️

🌟 Activities like these are so important, helping us stay active, creative, connected and engaged while creating precious memories together.

😊 From gardening and crafts to music and theatre, there has been something for everyone to enjoy!

💕 Here's to many more happy moments and adventures ahead.

🦋🌿 Last week we enjoyed our annual trip to the Butterfly Park and what a fabulous day it was! 🌺✨

It truly feels like stepping into a tropical rainforest 🌴💦 with spectacular sounds all around and the most beautiful butterflies flying freely everywhere 🦋💜. One of the best parts is when they decide to take a little rest on you 🥰🦋. Such a magical experience every single time!

We’ve also been keeping a close eye on our sunflowers 🌻☀️, watching them grow bigger each day and making sure they’re well cared for 🌱💛.

Back at the home, we’ve been enjoying our sensory themed corridors too, exploring our “Trip to London” theme 🇬🇧🚖☎️ with lots of lovely discussions, memories and sensory activities.

Days like these are so important 💖 — getting out into nature 🌿, enjoying sensory experiences 👂✨, encouraging conversation 🗣️, creating happy memories 😊 and supporting wellbeing for everyone.

🌸✨ **Another Wonderful Week Full of Smiles & Special Moments!** ✨🌸

We’ve had such a lovely time enjoying a variety of activities, trips, and celebrations together recently. 💖

Residents enjoyed a scenic road trip through the beautiful Malvern Hills to see the stunning bluebells in bloom and admire the wonderfully decorated Malvern Spring Wells. 🌿💙🌸 The colourful displays and fresh spring air made for a truly uplifting day out.

We also had a fabulous visit to the Malvern Spring Show, where everyone loved exploring the beautiful flower displays, creative exhibits, and unique crafts. 🌺🌼🌳

A relaxing trip to the nail salon gave residents the chance to enjoy a little pampering and self-care, leaving everyone feeling refreshed and smiling. 💅✨

We were treated to a wonderful musical concert filled with singing, laughter, and toe-tapping tunes. 🎶🎤 Music always brings so much joy and connection to our residents.

We also celebrated VE Day together with delicious food, decorations, music, and wonderful company. 🇬🇧❤️ A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day so special — we had a fantastic time celebrating together and remembering such an important occasion.

These outings and activities are so important in supporting wellbeing, creating meaningful memories, encouraging social connection, and bringing happiness to everyone in our home. 💕 Thank you to all our amazing staff, families, entertainers, and visitors for making these moments possible.

We’ve been making the most of this beautiful sunshine and what a lovely time we’ve had ☀️💛

A trip up the hills to see the bluebells in full bloom was simply breathtaking 🌿💜 The views were spectacular, and we were even lucky enough to spot some Highland cows 🐄😍 Magical moments like these really lift the spirits.

We also enjoyed a creative session with Growing Pots, decorating our very own clay plaques 🎨🌼 These will soon be proudly displayed in our garden – such a lovely way to add a personal touch to our outdoor space.

To top it all off, we visited the tulip farm 🌷🌈 and wow… what a view! Rows of vibrant colours and a truly magical day shared together.

Days like these remind us of the importance of getting outdoors, enjoying nature, being creative, and spending quality time together 🌳✨ These moments bring so much joy, support wellbeing, and create lasting memories 💕

🌸✨ **Weekly Update from Wishmoor** ✨🌸

What a lovely week we’ve had here at Wishmoor, full of fresh air, music, and sweet treats 💛

🚂 We took a fantastic scenic trip out on the steam valley train – enjoying beautiful views and a relaxing day out
🌱 We visited the garden centre to pick out plants and seeds, getting everything ready to watch our garden bloom 🌼🌿
🎶 We were delighted to welcome our wonderful musical volunteers back, filling the home with singing, music, and smiles
🐣 And of course, we celebrated Easter with some delicious food and plenty of sweet treats 🍰🍪

At Wishmoor, activities like these are so important because they help to:

✨ Promote independence and choice
