Deep tissue massage with dry myofascial cupping 🤲🏼🍵

Working on knots & adhesions, bringing blood flow to the surface & to the muscles. This is my favourite technique to use as i definitely believe in the benefit of blood flow and tissues being rejuvenated. We also worked on the QL muscle and the erector spinae.
Last pic is a few days after treating, the bruising starting to show and heal the areas surrounding.

My client had a deep tissue massage with adhesion breakdown, trigger pointing and PNF stretching. Claire is constantly active with tightness in her hamstrings and calves so we focussed on this area.
Can’t wait to see the results of how Claire feels in the next few days 🙌🏼

Yesterdays client was the lovely 💚 who requested a deep tissue massage on her lower back. Laura is persistent with her training, with weightlifting & CrossFit. She is constantly active so we did testing on her glutes and hamstrings to see if one is compensating more than another, resulting in us finding that she had a few tight knots in her vastus lateralis (the outside of her thigh) and slight knots in her piriformis (behind the glute max). Further on we went to work on her QL muscles. These are muscles that extend, stabilises and laterally flex the lumbar spine, so if this is tight it may be pulling the lower pain resulting in pain, so trigger pointing this muscle really helps with releasing tension and potential adhesions.

We did sciatic nerve flossing, a technique used to move the nerve and stretch it up and throughout the body to see if she has any sciatic pain. Laura didn’t, only to her thigh which could mean she has Piriformis tightness / issues.

We also did trigger pointing, active muscle release on her back & PNF stretching on her hamstrings. The goal of this appointment was to see what kind of issues we were working with, hence the special tests involved, to relax muscles, work any knots and deep adhesion with fascia release.

DRY CUPPING THERAPY NOW AVAILABLE 📣

Dry cupping is a technique used by most SM’s. This is a method of bringing the blood flow to muscle due to a suction vacuumed cup on the required body part.
Some facts about dry cupping are:

- Draws impurities and toxins away from the local tissues and organs towards the surface for elimination
- Alleviates pain due to the blood flow getting to the injured muscle fibres, by doing this it’s good for inflammation too
- Reduces muscle tension and also in the fascia as it releases tension and adhesions loosen
- “Bruising” will last anything from a few days to a week, this isn’t anything to worry about, as it’s just the localised blood being drawn to the tissue

This treatment will be an “add on” technique, on any appointment that you’d like.
This will be an extra fee of £5 (for now). This may change in the coming future as these are still my introductory offers 👀

Are you always active and are interested in how you can benefit your recovery? You’re at the right place!
My client is active with her running, as she’s currently training for her first marathon 🏃🏼‍♀️ a previous rugby player, and always into her regular weightlifting too. My client is constantly trying to benefit her health and wanted to see what techniques would benefit her calves and quads.

So we did active release technique, I held the trigger point on her vastus medialis & the adductor longus (the mid thigh and more medially - towards the inner). During active release holding the trigger point, I got my client to extend and flex her knee on the edge of the bed, to make her quadriceps contract and relax. By doing this it will starve the muscle of blood flow as I hold it and then it will flood to the muscle once released, the knots are caused due to highly contracted muscle fibers that need to be stripped.

This is a painful session to go through as I used all the various techniques, but so worth it 🙌🏼

Todays client has been suffering with a tight upper back, shoulders & neck.
So we did a deep tissue massage, starting with fast moving effleurage to increase blood flow to the target area & increase elasticity for less muscle tension. We also did trigger points around the traps, romboids and erector spinae.
