If you always relied on feeling good to do the ‘thing’, the ‘thing’ will never get achieved

If you let fear limit your mind about the ‘thing’, the ‘thing will always feel out of reach

Coming up to 15 years since I first stepped into a gym, with 9 years now as a coach and it absolutely hasn’t always been plain sailing

I’ve made PLENTY of mistakes…

I’ve had PLENTY of frustrating moments…

And I’ve had PLENTY moments I doubted myself…

BUT

Despite all of these moments you see above, you know the one thing that always remained?

How I attacked each day!

If anything, the worser days, made me work harder

When my back was up against the wall

But those are the moments you look back at that helps build a strong resilient mindset to tackle life

Rather than seeing the challenges that life throws at you, as a limiter…

Look at them as a chance for growth

Because remember: on the other end of darkness, is light (the contrast theory)

You cannot have hot without cold

You cannot have north without south

Therefore, you cannot have success without failures

If everyday you can look back at and be proud of the standard you held for yourself, you will be alright… trust me!

Sam was already training HARD when he joined us

3-4 CrossFit sessions a week, long trail runs, half marathons… but in his words 👇🏼

“I want the level of progression to match the effort”

Because despite working harder than most people he knew:

❌ He still felt chunky
❌ Still had the beer belly
❌ And felt like the way he looked didn’t match how hard he trained

Effort was never the problem

The right structure was

In the nicest way possible, he was basically doing a bit of everything and hoping it added up

The fix?

We built a system that gave him the structure around his strength training, running and nutrition/fuelling

We fast forward to now

✅ 6.4kg down
✅ 5k PB
✅ 10k PB
✅ 5-10kg added to compound lifts
✅ 35 minutes off his 24km trail run
✅ Longest ever run at 30km

And most importantly

“Feeling fit, strong, athletic and confident”

That’s the goal

Not just seeing some number on the scale

Not just getting a new PB badge on Strava

But to actually feel like your body and performance reflect the work you’re putting in!

If that sounds like you 👉🏼 DM me PERFORM and lets chat

You train 4, 5 or maybe even 6 times a week

You run

You lift

You eat pretty well most of the time

But for how much effort you put in, you still feel like you should look better

And that’s exactly the type of guy we specialise in working with

After 9 years coaching and helping over 1,300 people, I can tell you the answer is rarely MORE training

It’s getting your training, nutrition and lifestyle working together towards the same goal

So you can get leaner without sacrificing your performance and energy

You already work hard

It’s about finally getting the results to match it

Follow if that sounds like you 💪🏼

You rise to the level of the standards you accept

👉🏼 The people you train with
👉🏼 The conversations you have
👉🏼 The excuses you tolerate

Start asking yourself: whether the environment around you is helping you become the person you want to be or keeping you stuck feeling average…

Choose your environment wisely

If I could only train 5 days a week and wanted to get leaner, stronger & fitter

This is exactly how I would structure my week!

Monday: Lower
Tuesday: Upper
Wednesday: Interval Run
Thursday: Rest
Friday: Full Body
Saturday: Long Run
Sunday: Rest

Comment or DM me “PERFORM” if you’re training hard but want a plan that actually gets you leaner, stronger & fitter

If travelling ruins your ability to succeed long term… listen up

Because if you’re the type of person who can can’t maintain (and even build) their shape through holidays and travel plans, you don’t have a travel problem, you have a ability to adapt problem

I was in Dubai for 3 months and actually came home leaner (without it even being the goal)

Despite eating out more

Despite being in a different environment

Despite having to get familiar with new foods

Now, one of the biggest keys to my success here was adapting to a new reality

Admitting to myself that not every day is going to be perfect

But how I show up the days after is the most important thing

And the biggest mistake so many guys make when travelling, is they think because they can’t follow their normal routine perfectly, there’s no point following any routine at all.

But honestly the truth is, you don’t need your fancy routine…

You need routines that work for you anywhere

If you know you’re capable of more with your physique and tired of staying average, follow me 👉🏼 to feel like yourself again
