I get asked about sleeves a lot, mostly about timing and what the process actually looks like. The short answer is that they’re never rushed and they’re never random. We talk things through, figure out what makes sense for the space, and then build it over time. And I think watching everything come together session by session is still one of my favourite parts of tattooing.

If you’ve been thinking about starting something like this, feel free to send me a message and we can talk it through properly.

I think doing things like painting and photography just gives you a different set of habits. Painting makes you comfortable with being precise and knowing when to stop. Photography trains you to notice how things sit together, what draws the eye first, and what doesn’t really add much. When I’m tattooing, those habits are already there, so a lot of decisions get made naturally.

From a client point of view, it usually means ideas get clearer quicker. There’s less guessing, less changing things last minute, and more confidence in the layout before we start. It’s not something I actively think about while working but rather the experience from other areas showing up in the process.

If this kind of approach sounds like something you’d be into, feel free to drop me a message and we can talk it through.

These are the kinds of projects I’d love to do more of this year 🙌

Not trying to narrow anything down or put myself in a box, just a few things that genuinely excite me and feel like where my head’s been at creatively.

That said, I’m always open to different ideas too. A lot of my favourite tattoos have come from conversations I didn’t expect or projects that started somewhere completely different.

Think of these as dream projects rather than a checklist. If something here resonates, cool. If you’ve got something totally different in mind, I’m just as happy to talk that through 💪

I get asked abut this stuff a lot, especially because most of the work I do runs over a few days in a row.

Sitting for consecutive sessions is a bit different to a one-off tattoo, and how you prep for it genuinely makes the days easier and the work better. Nothing complicated, just the kind of things you don’t always think about until you’re halfway through day two.

All of that’s broken down in the slides. Worth a quick look if you’re planning something bigger, or saving for later if you know a longer project’s on your list.

This project is a really fun one for me 🙌

It started with an idea for an apocalyptic Manchester leg sleeve, but instead of digging through random references, I went out and photographed the city myself. I’ve been doing street photography for years, so it felt natural to use the places and atmosphere I already connect with.

We then broke those photos down and built the design from there, which made the whole thing feel way more personal and intentional. Stuff like this is why I love doing fully custom work - it’s not just about the tattoo but rather where the idea comes from in the first place.

Follow along to see the progress on it over the next few months 🙏

This is the first session on a project that’s going to be built slowly, section by section.

The idea started away from the studio - walking around Manchester with a camera, shooting the city, then pulling those images apart and rebuilding them into something darker and more fictional. Same places, different version of them.

This video shows the very beginning of that translation.

End of the year and looking back at some of my favourite pieces from it 🙏

A lot of time, trust, and patience went into these - from clients who showed up prepared, sat well, and gave me the freedom to do my best work. That part never gets taken for granted.

If any of these pieces or designs speaks to you, drop me a message and we’ll chat about getting your own project started.

See you in the new year.
