How do you know when alcohol has become more of a problem than you’d like to admit?

For many women, it isn’t about drinking every day or hitting a dramatic rock bottom.

Sometimes it’s noticing how much headspace alcohol takes up.

🍷 Thinking about when you’ll drink.
🍷 Making rules and then breaking them.
🍷 Realising alcohol is taking more than it’s giving.

An unhealthy relationship with alcohol isn’t defined by how much you drink. It’s about the role alcohol plays in your life.

At TABB for Women, we believe you don’t need a crisis to make a change. You don’t need permission either.

So, which one resonated most with you?

1️⃣ Thinking about alcohol more than you’d like.
2️⃣ Making rules and breaking them.
3️⃣ Alcohol taking more than it’s giving.

Why moderation becomes mentally exhausting.

For many women, the hardest part isn’t even the drinking itself.

It’s the constant mental negotiation.

“I’ll only have one.”
“I won’t drink during the week.”
“I’ll start again Monday.”
“Tonight doesn’t count.”
“Everyone else drinks like this.”

That internal conversation becomes exhausting.

Especially for women already carrying huge emotional loads:

* teachers finishing the school year exhausted
* mums managing everyone else’s needs
* professionals running on burnout
* women trying to hold everything together while quietly struggling themselves

At first, alcohol can feel like relief.
A reward.
A way to switch off.

But over time, many women realise the cycle itself is creating more anxiety, guilt, overwhelm and emotional exhaustion than they expected.

Grey area drinking often lives in that uncomfortable space where:
you’re functioning externally…
but internally you know something doesn’t feel right anymore.

And that awareness matters.

Because peace is not supposed to feel this hard.

On 6th January 2023, I had my last drink.

At the time, I had no idea that decision would become one of the best I’ve ever made.

Not long afterwards, I joined an online sober community. If I’m honest, it felt really strange at first. Most of us have spent years keeping our relationship with alcohol private. We don’t often talk openly about what’s really going on inside.

Suddenly, I was listening to women talking about alcohol, sobriety, fears, struggles and hopes as though it was the most normal thing in the world.

And that was exactly what made it so powerful.

Fast forward to September last year and, together with Sandra, we founded TABB for Women.

We didn’t have all the answers. We didn’t have a grand plan. We simply wanted to create a space where women felt safe, understood and free from judgement.

A place built on similarities rather than differences.

What started as a simple idea has grown into something neither of us could have imagined.

Today, TABB includes courses, coaching, daily meetings, masterclasses, guest speakers, a book club, a dedicated US meeting and, most importantly, an incredible community of women who genuinely show up for one another.

And we’re still growing.

This Saturday at 6pm GMT / 1pm ET we’re opening our doors for a FREE Open Meeting.

Whether you’re:
✨ Sober curious
✨ Trying to do this on your own
✨ Already alcohol-free and looking for connection
✨ Looking for growth beyond simply not drinking
✨ Or you’ve never quite felt at home in traditional recovery spaces

We’d love you to join us.

Come and listen. Meet some of the team. Hear a little about our experiences. See what modern support for women can look like.

Because sometimes all it takes is one conversation, one connection, one decision.

Comment “I’m In” below or send us a DM and we’ll send you the details.

This could be the start of something fabulous. ❤️

✨ ADHD & Alcohol Masterclass ✨

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Caroline Gorden to TABB for Women for a special live masterclass exploring the evidence-based link between ADHD and alcohol.

📅 Tuesday 23rd June
⏰ 7pm GMT / 2pm ET

Dr. Caroline Gorden is an ADHD and Autism Coach, RCP Designated Recovery Coach, researcher, and founder of Habits That Heal. Her work focuses on the relationship between neurodivergence, addiction, and recovery, with a particular interest in why women with ADHD may be especially vulnerable to developing a problematic relationship with alcohol.

In this fascinating session, Caroline will explore:

• The evidence-based link between ADHD and addiction
• Why alcohol can feel particularly appealing to ADHD brains
• Why women with ADHD may be at greater risk
• The impact of impulsivity, dopamine, masking and overwhelm
• What this means for recovery and long-term wellbeing
• Practical insights for women navigating sobriety and neurodivergence

Following Caroline's presentation, there will be an opportunity to take part in a live Q&A session, giving you the chance to ask questions and deepen your understanding of this important topic.

Whether you have ADHD, suspect you might, love someone who does, or simply want to better understand the growing conversation around neurodiversity and alcohol, this promises to be an insightful and thought-provoking evening.

🎟 Members: £8
🎟 Non-members: £10

Places are limited and early booking is recommended.

This Masterclass will kick off our Neurodiversity Week at TABB for Women, culminating with our first Neuro Divers meeting on Tuesday 30th June!

If the very idea of sobriety meetings has you running for the hills, this might be exactly the meeting for you.

At TABB for Women, we do things a little differently.

We don’t spend our time defining ourselves by our past. We don’t believe that your drinking story is the most interesting thing about you. Instead, we focus on who you are becoming.

TABB is a space for women who want to grow, change, learn and create a life that no longer revolves around alcohol. It’s a place to connect with other women who understand—without judgement, without labels and without pressure.

Whether you’re:

• Sober curious and wondering what life without alcohol might look like
• Fairly sure you want to stop drinking but aren’t sure where to start
• Already alcohol-free but haven’t yet found your people
• Looking for a fresh, modern approach to support and community

…this open meeting is for you.

During the session, you’ll meet the co-founders, Sarah and Sandra, hear about the philosophy behind TABB, learn about the support available to both members and non-members, and get a feel for what modern sobriety support for women can look like.

You are welcome to join anonymously if you prefer. We simply ask that we know your name when you register.

As Sandra often says:

“Sobriety isn’t about becoming less of yourself. It’s about becoming the woman you were always meant to be.”

So why not come along, have a listen, ask questions if you’d like to, and see whether TABB feels like a place where you belong.

We’d love to meet you!
