Ideas to help liaison between home & school
As parents/carers you will naturally want to keep in touch with school to make sure your child is ok. You will also be keen to find out how your child’s day has been from them.

Transition Thursday

Summer Secondary Transition Group 2026 ☀️📚

We have had a lovely time with another brilliant group of young people all transitioning to secondary school. The aim of the group is to look at different topics including listening, conversational skills, organising their bags using planners and timetables and making new friends. It is offered to children who have a diagnosis of Developmental Language Disorder, Autism, a mild to moderate learning difficulty or persistent difficulties related to their speech and language skills.

✨ what they’ve learnt - including how to pack their bag, how to make friends and that homework isn’t all that bad!
✨ what they WERE worried about before attending - including navigating school, talking to the teacher and getting lost.
✨ what they’re excited about - meeting new teachers, art lessons and joining clubs.
✨ what they’re favourite thing was about the group - the jokes, meeting new friends and meeting the lovely teachers (we didn’t even write that ourselves, we promise!)

The team can’t wait to see you next year at the 2027 group!
