March has always felt like a month of change for me, a month to make things happen. Inspired by the changes in nature as we move from winter to spring, as we get to enjoy the colours injected into the landscape by the blossom and the spring flowers, I get a feeling that anything is possible.
This March that feeling is even greater than ever!
As many of you know my granddaughter, Tia, was diagnosed with a brain tumour on 31st January of this year and was blue lighted to Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham where six days later the surgeons removed the @96% of the tumour.
Her initial recovery from the surgery was so good just three days after surgery she was allowed to continue her rehabilitation at home.
And she’s continuing to do well! She has lessons via Teams with her classmates every day and has had a few little trips out and about and as she gets stronger she’d like to have more experiences such as feeding the otters, going to a pottery class and visiting the largest Jelly Cat store in the country, to name a few!
Her school wanted to find a way to give Tia a boost and help with her rehabilitation so they set up a JustGiving page so that some of her wishes can come true 🩷
We don’t know whether she will require any further treatment, those results are due soon, right now we are focusing on this gorgeous girl having some fabulous experiences, including a surprise one!, and I’ve added the link to her page should you wish to be part of that too💛
What we didn’t know until this came crashing into our lives is that March is brain tumour awareness month so over the next few weeks I will be sharing more information about the signs, the treatment and what needs to happen so that more children aren’t misdiagnosed, Tia had symptoms for at least four years!!
Feel free to share anything from my posts and let’s get the awareness out there and help save more lives ❤️
Weʼre raising money to help grant Tia's Wishes. Support this JustGiving Crowdfunding Page.
