So wonderful to see one of our SIA Superheroes Trish Brookes recognised by our friends Superhero Series on their socials this week 🦸‍♀️

Trish truly is a real life wonder woman and this Summer she will once again be taking on the Superhero Tri in Windsor. As well as all of her amazing fundraising challenges Trish is also a proud SIA volunteer who supports people at her local community groups to live fulfilled lives after injury. We are incredibly lucky to have her and can't thank her enough for all she does☺️

If you'd also like to say thank you and show her some love then you can donate here https://www.justgiving.com/page/trish-brookes-8

You can also join Trish and our Superhero Team this August by visiting. A full accessible event, with varying distances and challenges to take on. It's genuinely one of our favourite events of the year https://www.spinal.co.uk/get-involved/events/superhero-triathlon/

Meet our Everyday Superhero Trish!

At the Superhero series we celebrate our Superheroes & showcase diversity. This Series is for all the unsung Superheroes who boldly face what life throws at them & are looking to take on super sporting challenges with their own unique superpowers!

Trish's Superpower is her huge smile, positive personality & determination! Trish's Superhero journey started in 2023 when she created her own mission at home & raised funds for the Spinal Injuries Association. In 2024, alongside her Sidekick, she took on her first Superhero Tri at Windsor. Then in 2025, Trish smashed all three stages herself. Now Trish is getting ready for her third Superhero Triathlon in 2026! "The Superhero Series has shown me that everyone can take part in sport & exercise in their own way. Seeing Superheroes supporting each other on mission day reminds me that if they can do it, so can I." Trish 2026

We are proud to recognise Paragon Home Healthcare as this month’s Trusted Care Partner, covering the Southeast, South Central and London. They provide specialist support for people living with spinal cord injury and is committed to helping people live a fulfilled life beyond injury.

Paragon Home Healthcare provides highly personalised, clinically informed care for people with spinal cord injuries, including older children, young people and adults. Much of this work happens quietly, behind the scenes — but its impact is life-changing.

From complex hospital discharges and transitions into independent accommodation, to supporting travel, education, family life, hobbies and new opportunities, Paragon’s focus is clear: care should not limit a person’s life. It should help open it back up.

We are proud to have Paragon Home Healthcare as one of our Trusted Care Partners and look forward to continuing to work together to support people living with spinal cord injury.

Last week one of our long term supporters Neelam from Calidus Care Consultancy took part in a skydive for SIA ... and today we're delighted to share the full video and some photos from her unforgettable experience 🪂

After the jump she said, "I faced my fear of heights and just went for it. I was so nervous in the build up but I can honestly say this was the best thing I have ever done. The free fall felt incredible. To see the beautiful Shropshire hills from thousands of feet in the air was out of this world. Thank you to the dream team at Tilstock for keeping me safe and smiling throughout."

Neelam has raised over £1700 for SIA which is just amazing and we can't thank her enough for going above and beyond for our charity.

If you would like to donate, there's still time https://www.justgiving.com/page/neelam-kaur-gupta-2026"

Feeling inspired? .... then you to can take to the skies with SIA and Skyline skydiving. There are multiple venues to choose from and our fundraising team will be on hand to support you all the way! https://booking.skylineskydiving.co.uk/book/yng59qmw

If you have any questions about taking part in a challenge event for SIA please email [email protected] or call 01908 732 157.
