Without a doubt, relaxation — and ultimately, rest — is an art. And like any form of art, it takes practice. ✨
True relaxation is reached when we allow ourselves to sit or lie in stillness and silence. Within our busy lives, taking time to pause and soften the chaos can allow the stresses and tensions we’ve tucked away to gently creep out of the darkness and into our moment of relaxation.
This is where Yoga Nidra meditation comes in.
Yoga Nidra invites us to release the driving seat to the facilitator, settle into our space, and allow their voice to gently guide us through the stages of deep relaxation:
🍁Inviting the body to relax
🍁Intention (Sankalpa)
🍁Rotation of Awareness (Body scan)
🍁Awareness of the breath
🍁Opposites (sensation of hot/cold etc)
🍁Guided visualisation
🍁Sound immersion visualisation
🍁Silence
🍁Returning to the room and releasing the intention
Once we reach a place of deep relaxation, the mind and body can truly rest. It is a state somewhere between deep sleep and wakefulness — almost as if you are floating. You can feel that you are awake, while simultaneously becoming deeply immersed in relaxation.
And this is where the inner healing may begin. ✨
Those of you who have experienced my
Yoga Nidra & Sound Immersion sessions before will be familiar with the concept, but these sessions are going to be a little different…
There will be
no Boogie Shakedown this time.
When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed and invited to settle into your own cosy cocoon, using your blanket and pillow to make yourself comfortable.
After following the Tibetan bowl into silence, you’ll be invited to follow my voice through the stages of Yoga Nidra meditation, gently and sparingly supported by the subtle tones of the crystal singing bowls.
From there, you’ll be released into your
sound visualisation, before returning to silence.
Finally, the gentle voice of the Tibetan bowl will call you back into the room. ✨
This is why this isn’t
just a meditation…
It’s a
hot fudge sundae meditation with extra fudge and sprinkles.
