✨ A little honesty post… ✨
This was me just before I joined Slimming World in January 2023.
Looking back at this photo brings back a lot of emotions. The years leading up to it had been incredibly difficult and, like many people, I found comfort in food. The weight gradually crept on as life threw challenge after challenge my way.
In August 2022, just six days after undergoing knee surgery, my world was turned upside down when my dad passed away suddenly. The grief was overwhelming, and more weight piled on as I struggled to cope with everything that was happening.
I remember looking at myself and knowing that something had to change. Not because of how I looked, but because I wanted to feel better, physically and mentally. I wanted to take back some control and start looking after myself again.
What I also knew was that I needed a plan that fitted into real life. I didn’t want to cook separate meals for myself or spend my days feeling hungry. I needed a way of eating that meant I could still cook and enjoy meals the whole family loved, while losing weight and improving my health.
Joining Slimming World gave me exactly that. It wasn’t just about losing weight. It was about finding support, rebuilding my confidence, improving my health and proving to myself that I could do hard things.
The journey hasn’t always been easy, but every small step forward was worth it. Today I’m so grateful that I made that decision to walk through those group doors.
From this photo to losing just under 5 stone, reaching my target weight, and now helping others as a Slimming World Consultant, it’s been an incredible journey.
If you’re waiting for the “right time” to start, this is your reminder that you don’t have to be perfect, and you don’t have to do it alone. Sometimes one small decision can change everything. ❤️
