🥚 OVULATION: WHAT EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW
Trying to understand your menstrual cycle? One important word to know is OVULATION.
Ovulation is when a mature egg is released from the o***y and becomes available for fertilisation.
📅 When does it happen?
For a 28-day cycle, ovulation often occurs around day 14, but not everyone ovulates on day 14. It generally happens about 12–16 days before the next period.
🔍 Possible signs of ovulation:
• Clear, slippery, stretchy cervical mucus often described as “egg-white” discharge
• Mild lower abdominal pain or cramping on one side
• Increased sexual desire
• A slight rise in basal body temperature after ovulation
• A positive ovulation predictor test due to the LH surge
❤️ When are you most fertile?
Your fertile window is approximately the 5 days before ovulation, the day of ovulation, and about the day after. S***m can survive for several days, while the released egg usually remains viable for only about 12–24 hours.
⚠️ Important:
Calendar calculations and symptoms can help estimate ovulation, but they cannot tell you the exact day with certainty especially if your cycles are irregular.
Understanding your cycle is not just about pregnancy. Changes in your menstrual pattern can also provide useful information about your reproductive health.
