...and it's a go!

Gates are open for the first of 4 days at the Bures Music Festival.

Our engagement stall is located right next to the entrance, so it's hard to miss us. Come say hello, have a practice at CPR and find out about our recruitment campaign.

P.S. We have stickers!

We have 3 volunteers ready to respond on 2 different call signs tonight, to help support our colleagues on front line duties.

Community First Responders (CFRs) in the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust have a couple of different pathways available to them once at scene with a patient.

In cases where we have established that the patient is in a stable non-life threatening condition, we can update the control room and potentially allow the patient to wait for an ambulance, without the need for us to wait at the scene with them. This means our volunteers are able to be tasked to the next call and helps the control room triage the patient more accurately than by a phone call alone.

Where appropriate, and after liaising with a senior clinician on the phone, we can discharge a patient at home, advising them to use other pathways such as their GP, saving an ambulance resource and meaning the patient doesn't have to endure a trip to the emergency department.

Of course, in cases where the patient is in a life threatening or serious condition, we will remain with them, to provide treatment and to support our colleagues once the ambulance arrives.

🚨 We are currently extremely busy

We're experiencing a high number of calls and many of our ambulances are waiting to hand over patients at hospital.

🀳 Please only call 999 for serious or life-threatening emergencies. For anything else use https://111.nhs.uk/ or call 111.

πŸ•˜ If waiting for an ambulance, only call back if the patient's condition changes, or you no longer need the ambulance.

Thank you for helping us ensure we get to those who need us.

On Saturday 20th June 2026 two of our volunteers were amongst a number of special guests of the Essex Freemasons for their 250th anniversary celebration meal.

In their landmark year, the Essex Freemasons gifted four Essex based charities Β£100,000 each.

The East of England Ambulance Service Charity has used this donation to help fund three Community First Responder cars in Essex. These help CFRs provide lifesaving care across the county.

One of the cars is regularly used by our group to mentor new starters and maintain our clinical contact with patients, meaning we stay competent.

We are now exploring how these vital resources stay funded into the future. If you, or an organisation you represent, could help, please get in touch.
