So today is going to be my last day here on this page for now. Gone and see me here at Thoughts on Everything instead:

https://www.facebook.com/share/1FkEV2Fkja/

I'm starting a new page that is a bit more selfcare, mental health and humour focused

I'll be discussing the realities of the anxious mind in a funny, but true way and sharing some things I've picked up that help me and discussing certain topics related to mental health and wellness.

As part of this, I will continue reviewing a whole range of items including skincare, wellness products, books, music, things that just make me smile or feel relaxed and some fab small business purchases.

I really hope to see you there and would love if you can tell your friends :)

Thanks for all your support here

❄️ EXFOLIATING IN COLD WEATHER ❄️

Exfoliating your face in cold weather can be a great way to keep your skin smooth and bright, but it requires a gentler approach than in warmer months.

Cold air typically holds less moisture, and indoor heating pulls even more hydration from your skin.

This combination can leave your complexion dry, tight, and more sensitive than usual.

Because of that, harsh scrubs or frequent exfoliation may do more harm than good, potentially causing irritation or disrupting your skin barrier.

A better approach in winter is to focus on mild exfoliation.

Enzyme-based exfoliants or low-percentage AHAs (like lactic acid) tend to be more forgiving on dry, stressed skin.

If you prefer physical exfoliation, choose a formula with very fine, smooth particles and use it sparingly.

Whether you’re using chemical or physical products, limiting exfoliation to 1–2 times per week is usually enough to remove dead skin without stripping essential moisture.

It’s also important to follow exfoliation with deep hydration.

After removing dead skin cells, your skin can better absorb nourishing products, so applying a hydrating serum and a richer winter moisturiser can help lock in moisture and strengthen your skin barrier.

Using sunscreen daily remains essential, even in cold weather, because freshly exfoliated skin is more sensitive to UV exposure.

Overall, exfoliating in cold weather can brighten and refresh your skin, just be sure to keep things gentle, consistent, and well-moisturiswd.

Good morning, beauties.

Before you step into the day, take a quiet moment to check in with yourself and your skin.

How is it feeling this morning?

Soft and hydrated, a little dry, or maybe craving some extra care and nourishment?

🧘‍♂️ How to Find Peace in a Stressful Day (Without Moving to the Mountains)

If today feels like it was designed by a villain with a clipboard, here are a few ways to reclaim your sanity:

1. Take a “Micro-Escape.”

Close your eyes, take one slow breath, and pretend you’re on a beach. Ignore the fact that your real beach currently contains emails, laundry, and that one person who keeps saying “quick question.”

2. Hydrate like you’re being paid for it.

Water won’t fix everything… but it does make you less likely to hiss at people.

3. Turn your phone on Do Not Disturb.

If someone truly needs you urgently, they will appear in person like a medieval messenger. Everyone else can wait 15 minutes.

4. Do one tiny task.

Not five. Not twelve. One. Fold a sock. Reply to a single email. Put a dish in the sink. Boom. You’re productive. Nobel Peace Prize committee will call any minute.

5. Step outside for 60 seconds.

Touch a tree. Look at the sky. Smell the air. Remind yourself the world is bigger than your to-do list.

6. Say something kind to yourself.

You’ve survived 100% of your stressful days so far. That’s a flawless record.

Peace isn’t the absence of stress, it’s the small, stubborn decision to take care of yourself anyway.

Good morning! ☀️

If today tries to test your patience, just smile and pretend you’re the main character in a sitcom.

Coffee in hand, plot armor activated, and absolutely NO background characters are allowed to ruin your vibe.

Go out there and be the reason someone laughs today, even if it’s just because you tripped but styled it out like a runway model. 😎✨

Let’s do this!

What do you have planned today?

Morning all!

Is it just me, or does everyone look like a confused 87-year-old granny whenever we use dry shampoo?

Like why am I patting my head, fluffing my roots, and coughing through the mist like I’m dusting antique furniture??
