After 30 years of nursing, I still feel incredibly grateful to have done this job.

I’ve met some of the most incredible humans through nursing... patients, families, colleagues and friends 💕

Those years taught me more about what people really need than any textbook ever could.

I know it can be hard and heartbreaking at times. But what an honour it still is.

Funny how life works sometimes. I never became the doctor I imagined as a little girl.

But nursing gave me more than I ever expected with a career, a family, a purpose and eventually a way to help women feel truly heard.

And honestly? I think I ended up exactly where I was meant to be.

We often assume people need advice, treatment or a quick solution.

But sometimes they need something much simpler first.

✔️To feel noticed.
✔️To feel safe.
✔️To feel like they matter.
✔️To be listened to without being rushed.

Loneliness can show up quietly. It doesn’t always look dramatic and people don’t always say it out loud.

A small check-in, a longer conversation, or taking an extra minute with someone can mean more than we realise.

The practical thing they came for may still matter. But human connection matters too.

If you’ve ever been told ‘your tests are normal,’ while still feeling awful…this is for you.

So many women are dismissed with advice that sounds simple but misses the bigger picture.

👉 Just try harder.
👉 It’s your age.
👉 Eat less and move more.
👉 You just need more motivation.

Sometimes the real issue is poor sleep, stress, blood sugar dips, low protein, burnout or years of putting everyone else first.

Yes, getting older is real.
But feeling dreadful every day isn’t something you should just accept.

✔️ You deserve to feel listened to.
✔️ You deserve support that looks at the full picture.
✔️ You deserve advice that actually helps.

Every year this week reminds me of something simple.

Within a few days my ENERGY feels completely different ⚡️

Not because skiing is magical…but because life quietly resets.

✔️I wake up earlier.
✔️I move for hours without calling it exercise.
✔️I sit down and eat proper meals.
✔️laugh a lot.
✔️spend most of the day outside.

And without even trying, I spend far less time on my phone.

It’s a good reminder that feeling better usually isn’t about adding more supplements, more hacks, or more complicated routines.

Most of the time it’s about rebuilding the simple things our bodies already know how to respond to.

Interestingly, this is exactly where most of the work with my clients begins…not with complicated plans, but with rebuilding these foundations in everyday life.

Healthcare professionals don’t suddenly lose their skills when they step outside a clinical setting.

What’s been a turning point in your life?

For me, it was realising that while my work as a nurse was incredibly rewarding, there was more I wanted to offer.

After years in A&E and now in Primary Care, I saw how often people needed more than quick advice or a prescription….they needed time, space and someone to really listen.

That’s what led me to train as a Health Coach.

Now, alongside my nursing role, I support people in a more holistic way - helping them find balance, boost their energy, improve their blood sugar, and feel more like themselves again.

It’s not about choosing one or the other - it’s about combining both medical knowledge and lifestyle support to make a real difference.
