MEET CELORA VITA®…THE NEXT GENERATION OF SKIN REGENERATION

We’re moving beyond simply treating the signs of ageing and increasingly looking at how we can support the skin’s own biology to function better over time.

Celora Vita® by Mastelli-the Italian pharmaceutical company behind Plinest® polynucleotides-is an exciting new regenerative injectable treatment designed to support skin quality, repair and healthy ageing from within.

Celora Vita represents a new approach to biorevitalisation, focusing on creating the right environment for healthier, more resilient skin.

So what makes Celora Vita different?

Rather than adding volume or changing facial shape, Celora Vita is designed to work at a cellular level, supporting the processes involved in skin renewal and regeneration.

The aim?

✨ Improved skin quality
✨ Better hydration and luminosity
✨ Smoother, more refined texture
✨ Improved elasticity and firmness
✨ Support for tired, stressed or ageing skin
✨ A fresher appearance-without looking “done”

This is exactly the direction I believe modern aesthetics is heading:

Less correction. More regeneration.
Less alteration. More skin longevity.

As a doctor-led clinic, we focus on treatments that work with the biology of the skin and can form part of a longer-term, evidence-led skin strategy rather than simply providing a short-term cosmetic fix.

Celora Vita also sits beautifully within a bespoke treatment plan, alongside medical-grade skincare, polynucleotides, microneedling, laser and carefully selected injectable treatments.

Because great aesthetic medicine shouldn’t be about changing your face.

It should be about helping you and your skin look-and function- at their best.

Apparently being evidence-based is kinda chic now… and I’m here for it ❤️

For me, good aesthetics has never been about chasing trends or treating everyone with the same combination of injectables.

It’s about understanding what you’re actually treating first.

✨ Correctly diagnosing cosmetic dermatology concerns
✨ Offering evidence-based prescription skincare when appropriate
✨ Having advanced laser resurfacing options available
✨ Looking at the whole face-not just three standard areas of anti-wrinkle treatments
✨ Combining injectables with regenerative and skin-focused treatments
✨ Understanding facial anatomy and how the face changes with age
✨ And, importantly, knowing when NOT to treat

Because sometimes the answer isn’t more filler.

Sometimes it’s improving skin quality. Sometimes it’s laser. Sometimes it’s prescription skincare. Sometimes it’s addressing muscle activity. And sometimes… you really don’t need anything at all.

A genuinely bespoke treatment plan should be exactly that-bespoke.

Doctor-led, evidence-based aesthetics that helps you look like yourself, just fresher.

Turns out that’s kinda chic. ❤️

I just had to share this progress after only ONE treatment with NEWEST polynucleotides/HA!

Perioral rejuvenation requests remain popular in clinic. There are several treatment options available dependent on the severity of the problem and the skin presentation.

These include (often in combination):
-topical prescription retinoids
-SKINVIVE
-fine Dermal Filler
-LASER resurfacing
-Newest

This lovely lady is having Perioral rejuvenation but we didn’t want to add any puffiness to the area and she was keen for a regenerative approach, so we have started a NEWEST protocol.

NEWEST is an injectable biorevitalisation treatment combining polynucleotides (PN-HPT®) with hyaluronic acid-bringing together regenerative skin support with hydration in one treatment.

The result? Skin that can gradually appear:

✨ More hydrated
✨ Firmer and more elastic
✨ Smoother in texture
✨ Brighter and fresher
✨ Healthier and more resilient

Unlike traditional dermal filler, NEWEST isn’t about changing your facial features or creating volume. It’s about working with your skin to improve its quality from within by stimulating collagen-producing fibroblasts whilst hyaluronic acid adds hydration.

The treatment protocol is dependent on your bespoke needs; this lady will have 4 treatments 2-3 weeks apart. We used a cannula with subcision for comfort and extra collagen stimulation and this makes the procedure comfortable.

If you are wanting to discuss options for perioral rejuvenation (or any other aesthetics treatment!) we would love to see you in clinic.

ARE YOU USING YOUR VITAMIN C CORRECTLY?

Vitamin C is one of my favourite evidence-based skincare ingredients-but how you choose, store and use it can make a real difference.

Here are some of the most common mistakes I see:

Leaving it exposed to light and heat
L-ascorbic acid can be unstable and oxidises when exposed to light, heat and air. Keep the lid tightly closed and don’t leave your serum sitting on a sunny bathroom shelf or windowsill.

Continuing to use it when it’s significantly changed colour
Some change over time can occur, but if your once-clear or pale Vitamin C has turned distinctly dark yellow, orange or brown, significant oxidation may have occurred-and it may be time for a fresh bottle.

Assuming stronger = better
It doesn’t. With L-ascorbic acid, effective formulations are commonly in the 10–20% range, but sensitive skin may benefit from starting lower. The formulation is just as important as the number on the bottle.

Saving it only for your nighttime routine
Vitamin C can absolutely be used at night, but I particularly recommend it in the morning, when its antioxidant properties can complement your sunscreen and help protect against environmental oxidative stress throughout the day.

Forgetting the neck and décolletage
These areas are exposed to sun and pollution as much as the face and it’s important not to forget about them in our skincare regime-that includes retinoids and SPF too!

Inconsistent use
As with most skincare, regular and consistent use leads to better outcomes. Most things are a slow-burn and effective change takes time. Keep going!

My favourite Vitamin C?
The OBAGI medical professional C serum range.
A brilliant formulation, with proven benefits in a range is strengths. It’s important to use the most appropriate strength for your goals and your skin.

My journey through Adult Female Acne…

“You’ll grow out of it”
Well it’s been 20 years and it’s still here…I’ve been on Antibiotics for a long time and although they work, it would return rapidly on stopping and the side effects were awful. And in the world of gut microbiome and antibiotic resistance, I no longer wanted to continue with this.

In the past, topical treatments I had used hadn’t been effective enough…

I first developed Acne in my early 20’s. I was lucky that I barely had anything until that point. Working long hours with junior doctor stress, bad eating habits and hormonal changes likely all played a role.

Today, it’s the best it has ever been without oral treatment on my current regime of the Clenziderm range from Obagi, topical Tretinoin, topical Azelaic acid (both prescription strength) and monthly Salicyclic Acid chemical peels.

We are seeing ever increasing numbers of women developing Adult Female Acne in their 20’s and it is often chronic and persistent. Some women may never have had it before: up to 40% develop it for the first time after age 25.

It can be associated with barrier dysfunction and increase TEWL (trans epidermal water loss) which can make treating it more tricky due to sensitivity to topical agents.

Nearly half of these women are then affected with scarring or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, highlighting the importance of timely and effective treatment.

There are lots of options and it’s important to see a medically qualified professional who can advise you appropriately on what’s best for your condition and your circumstances (not just what they have in their clinic).

I now combine my regime with Skinpen, Profhilo, Polynucleotides, Celora Vita (and Skinvive next!) to maintain a healthy barrier, reduce inflammation, stimulate collagen and clear post inflammatory pigmentation. I’m finally happy with my skin.

✨ SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM®-My new favourite injectable for healthy, glowing skin ✨

If your skin feels dull, dehydrated or has lost that healthy glow, but you don’t want added volume or an “overfilled” look, SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® could be exactly what you’re looking for.

Unlike traditional dermal fillers that restore volume, SKINVIVE™ uses tiny microdroplets of hyaluronic acid placed within the skin to improve skin quality, not facial shape. Hyaluronic acid naturally attracts and holds water, helping your skin retain moisture, improve smoothness and reflect light more evenly for a fresh, radiant complexion.

💧 What can SKINVIVE™ help with?
• Dull, tired-looking skin
• Dehydration
• Rough skin texture
• Fine lines and crepey skin
• Loss of luminosity
• Improving overall skin quality and radiance

✨ How does it work?
SKINVIVE™ is injected just beneath the skin’s surface, where it attracts water and improves hydration from within. Rather than creating volume or changing your facial contours, it enhances the skin itself-making it smoother, healthier and more luminous. Clinical studies have demonstrated improvements in hydration, skin smoothness and cheek skin quality after just one treatment.

⏳ When will I see results and how long does it last?
Many patients begin noticing improvements within 2–4 weeks, with the skin continuing to look smoother and more radiant as hydration builds. Clinical studies have shown results can last up to 9 months following a single treatment, although this varies between individuals.

Beauty editors have described SKINVIVE™ as an “injectable moisturiser” because it enhances hydration beneath the skin’s surface without changing your natural appearance. Leading publications including Vogue, Allure and Cosmopolitan have highlighted SKINVIVE™ as part of the growing trend towards regenerative, skin-quality treatments that focus on healthy, glowing skin rather than simply adding volume.

For me, this is what modern aesthetics is all about-healthy skin first, subtle enhancement second. When your skin looks healthy, everything else looks better.

Some of the best over-the-counter acne treatments you can pick up at Target!

If you’re struggling with breakouts, you don’t always need prescription medication to get started. Here are some evidence-based ingredients to look for on your next Target shop:

🩵 Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5–5.5-10%)
One of the most effective ingredients for inflammatory acne. It helps kill acne-causing bacteria and reduces redness. Start slowly as it can be drying and may bleach fabrics!

💙 Salicylic Acid (2%)
A beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that penetrates into pores to dissolve excess oil and dead skin cells. Great for blackheads, whiteheads and oily skin. Available as a wash and a leave on treatment!

💧 Don’t forget your moisturiser and SPF!
Many acne treatments can dry or sensitise the skin, so using a non-comedogenic moisturiser can help and don’t forget that a broad-spectrum SPF every morning is essential.

Remember, more products don’t mean better results. Introduce one active ingredient at a time and give it several weeks to work.

In clinic, we can create a personalised treatment plan that may include medical-grade skincare, chemical peels, SkinPen® microneedling (for suitable acne scars) and prescription-strength treatments where appropriate.

July is Melasma & Hyperpigmentation Awareness Month

Fun fact: this is me on Beyoncé’s private beach in Malibu. We *may* have wandered along there because it was “quiet”.
Can confirm that 💲200 million buys a GLORIOUS bit of the Pacific. And they were very gracious to the wandering Geordies 🤣🤣🤪🫣🫣

If you’ve noticed patches of darker skin that seem impossible to fade, you’re not alone. Melasma and hyperpigmentation affect millions of people and can have a significant impact on confidence.

Although they can look similar, they have different causes:
🤎 Melasma is often triggered by hormones, genetics and UV exposure.
🤎 Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) develops after skin inflammation such as acne, eczema or injury.
🤎 Sunlight and even visible light can worsen both conditions, making daily sun protection absolutely essential.

The good news? With the right treatment plan, pigmentation can be significantly improved.

At Dr Fiona Steedman | GP and Skin-First Aesthetics Doctor, we take a skin-first, evidence-based approach to treating pigmentation. One of our most effective treatment programmes is Obagi Nu-Derm®, a medical-grade skincare system designed to:
✨ Reduce unwanted pigmentation
✨ Improve skin tone and texture
✨ Encourage healthy skin cell turnover
✨ Reveal brighter, clearer, more even-looking skin

Every treatment plan is personalised because no two skins are the same. During your consultation, we’ll identify the cause of your pigmentation and create a bespoke programme combining medical-grade skincare, sun protection and, where appropriate, in-clinic treatments to achieve the best possible results.

If you’ve been covering pigmentation with makeup instead of treating the cause, this could be the perfect time to invest in your skin.
Send us a DM or book a consultation at the portal in bio to find out whether Obagi Nu-Derm® is right for you.
