From 15 stone to 9 stone. Six stone lost. π€―
A lot of people see me running now and assume Iβve always been active.
The truth is, for most of my adult life I was stuck in the same cycle.
January arrived, I started another diet, lost anywhere from 1-3 stone before my summer holiday, enjoyed myself while I was away, then gradually put all the weight back on⦠plus a little extra.
Every. Single. Year.
After more than a decade of doing that, I hit rock bottom.
That photo was taken in December 2024. Itβs the photo I sent to my pharmacy when I started Mounjaro.
For me, Mounjaro was the tool that finally helped me break the cycle.
I stayed on Mounjaro for 10 months, and it genuinely changed my life.
I didnβt fully understand what βfood noiseβ was until it disappeared.
Around the same time, I started Couch to 5K. Running began as something to support my weight loss, but somewhere along the way I fell in love with it.
Not because of the calories burned.
Because of what it did for my mental health.
Running became the best therapy Iβd ever found. It helped me feel stronger, happier and more like myself again. Eventually, I was even able to come off antidepressants after being on them for more than 10 years.
So here I am now.
Six stone lighter.
Still enjoying food.
Still having treats.
Just not every day. π
And running? What started as a way to lose weight became something much bigger. Itβs helped my mental health, helped me maintain my weight, and given me a version of myself I genuinely never thought Iβd become. π€β¨
