If you have been meaning to book a Reiki session, there is a room for you in Newport.
I see people for Reiki and Crystal Reiki at Boughey House in Newport, on Wednesdays and the last Saturday of each month.
A session is 45 minutes, £40, the same price whichever you choose. You stay clothed and lie down on the couch, and I work with my hands resting on or just above you. Mostly you rest, with no one needing anything from you. Reiki is a gentle, complementary thing. It sits alongside the rest of your life, it does not replace anything.
Booking is open. £20 holds your place and you pay the rest in the room on the day. If something comes up, you can move your slot up to 48 hours before.
Boughey House, Newport. Wednesdays and the last Saturday of the month. The room is by appointment, so please book online rather than calling in. If you are curious about Reiki and would like a chat first, send me a message and I will get back to you.

Is Reiki real. It is a fair question, and one I would rather answer honestly than dodge. I am not going to tell you there is a measurable force passing from my hands that a machine could read, because that is not a claim I can stand behind. What I can tell you is what reliably happens. People lie down, they rest deeply, their breathing slows, and they get up calmer than they arrived.
Whether you think of that as energy, or simply as the rare gift of an hour of complete stillness with someone paying you quiet attention, the effect is the same and it is real enough to feel. Reiki is a complementary practice for relaxation and wellbeing, not a cure for anything, and it sits happily alongside the rest of your life. You do not have to believe in anything for it to be a restful hour. Plenty of the people I see would call themselves sceptics. They come because they are tired, and it helps.

People often ask me what Reiki actually feels like, and the honest answer is that it is different for everyone. Some people feel a gentle warmth where my hands rest. Some feel a heaviness, the good kind, the sort you feel when you finally sit down at the end of a long day. A lot of people simply drift off to sleep. And some feel almost nothing at all the first time, and lie there wondering if they are doing it wrong.
You are not doing it wrong. There is no right way to receive it. Whether you feel waves of something or just a quiet hour of rest, the session is doing the same thing, giving your body a rare stretch of time where nothing is asked of it. Most people get up a little softer than they lay down. That is really the whole of it.

From Wednesday 1 July I will be working from a room in Newport.
Up to now my Reiki has been at a distance. From July there is somewhere to come and see me in person, at Boughey House on Newport High Street, on Wednesdays and the last Saturday of each month.
Reiki and Crystal Reiki, 45 minutes, £40. Three quarters of an hour to lie down and let everything go quiet, with nobody needing a single thing from you. Reiki is a gentle, complementary practice. It sits alongside the rest of your life, it does not replace anything.
You do not need to know anything about it, or believe anything in particular, to come and rest. If you have been running on empty, that hour does more than you would expect.
Booking is open now. A £20 deposit holds your place and you pay the rest on the day.
