A little bit of sunshine before the afternoon rain ☀️ The girls are making the most of every minute of it.

As much as we’ve enjoyed that glorious sunshine, we’re actually pretty happy to see some much-needed rain arriving too. The grass will certainly thank us for it! 🌱🐄

Daily concentrate for the heifer calves… although there’s always one who likes to do things her own way!

The rest are quite happy tucking into the feed dropped onto the grass, while this cheeky girl has worked out that the best place to be is underneath the snacker, helping herself straight from the hopper. 😂

Can’t say she lacks initiative!

What a legend Cow 360 is! 👑

The last remaining cow on the farm from the group we imported from Denmark in 2014, 360 was born in 2013 and is now in her 12th lactation — and in-calf again for 2027.

She’s a brilliant example of what a great grass-based dairy cow should be: hardy, healthy, sound and fertile, with the ability to keep producing year after year.

She’s been a familiar face around the farm for so many years and it’s fantastic to see her still thriving and doing what she does best.

What a girl! 🐄

Yesterday was a very sad day at Kirvennie as we said goodbye to our sweet Heidi. 🤍

For nearly 15 years, Heidi was a much-loved part of life here on the farm and a familiar face to so many of us. She spent her days happily pottering around the farm, following us wherever we went, playing with the cats and lounging in the sun.

She was the sweetest, most loyal girl and brought so much joy to our lives. The farm will feel very different without her around.

She had a wonderful life here, and we feel very lucky to have had her.

Run free, beautiful girl. You will be very sadly missed. 🤍
