Achieving exactly what we set out to do!

A personal goal amongst many in 2026 was to achieve a 1:40 half marathon and that is exactly what we have done!

I’m super proud of myself in all honesty, 10 years ago I was told by the doctors that I would struggle to ever play sport or run without scrusinating pain again due to being told I have axial spondylitis. I wouldn’t let that stop me! To then move countries into a better environment and play football again, grow in the gym and now complete a half marathon in a PB time is crazy.

It’s another one ticked off and a moment and feeling to appreciate.

This all wouldn’t be possible without the friendships and environments I have surrounded myself with recently to keep pushing to be a leader, to motivate others, to prove to myself anything is possible if you put in the hard work and dedication to wanting something enough to go and do it.

Huge shoutout to everyone in the CRC community, those who have come and gone over the past 12 months since I really started my running journey and those who know they have been real support every step of the way!

Thank you ❤️

It now gets serious…
The hardest mountain to climb is to come in 4 weeks time.

“DISCIPLINE over MOTIVATION”

Some days I really don’t want to be here.

I’m tired from working 50+hr weeks in multiple jobs.

I’m tired from running 50km this week while others are relaxing.

I’m tired from weightlifting sessions that I struggle to fit in time for and recently socialising in general is becoming quite draining.

I’m tired and annoyed that the week hasn’t gone to how it was originally planned in my head.

Guess what?

It doesn’t matter!

You/we do this for a reason?

Because we love the process and we love the challenge and feeling of success.

However hard it may be.

You’ve got this just as much as I do, you just need to keep putting one foot in front of the other consistently to win the game.

RECOVER | RESET | RESTART

A long weekend away from the busy life back in Perth is well deserved and needed from time to time.

Looking after yourself, especially your health is the most important thing you should do in life, allow yourself time to relax, experience new things and create memories with great people.

With so much going on at the moment in my life, it seems to be never ending crazy busy, however time away allows me to take a back seat view and reflect on how far I have come and plan strategically ahead for the next goal in mind.

There is so much more to life than work and earning money for me, experiences and memories are far more precious to me than anything else and that will never change.

Life is short, enjoy it, don’t put too much pressure on yourself, create opportunities that allow you to grow and make yourself proud of what you have achieved.

“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with”

In my case, I have been fortunate to grow a community of friends that all have the attributes I want to be around to grow and create the most
amount of happiness and memories with ❤️.

Yes this quote is true, but when you feel like this with all your friends then you can’t go wrong!

Surround yourself with positive people!

Same Weight vs Different Physiques

If I had obsessed over the number 78kg, I would’ve missed the entire journey of building a leaner, stronger, and more athletic physique.

Why the scale isn't everything:

Muscle is Denser: It takes up way less space than fat. You can look smaller and more defined at the exact same weight.

Composition Matters: The scale measures your total mass, but it doesn’t see your hard earned muscle or hydration levels.

True Progress: How your clothes fit and how you feel in the gym and in day to day life are much better indicators of success than a morning weigh-in.

There are so many variables that are far more important.

Scale weight can fluctuate massively throughout the day.

The Lesson: Use the scale as a data point, alongside many other variables.

If tracking scale weight puts a negative impact onto your mental health/day to day life?

THEN DON’T TRACK IT!

You think GROWING is easy?

It takes time, dedication, hard work and consistency!

I was balls deep in pain throughout most my training sessions a few years ago.

My goals have slightly changed now which lean more towards endurance and cardiovascular health rather than bodybuilding and strength training work however I always get asked “how have you reached your physique”.
(as most people in the gyms out here in Australia don’t see me lifting like this anymore)

The answer?

It takes time, dedication, hard work and consistency!

Investing in RECOVERY 🔥 🧊

It’s about time I took this s**t seriously I guess, over the last 31 years I’ve had an incredible amount of injuries through training but I have managed to always recover in a pretty speedy manner back to full recovery.

However…

With the amount of niggles I have had recently due to the training load building greater on a weekly basis and recovery becoming an issue!

It’s finally time to invest into fully dedicating my time and money into my health in regards to RECOVERY to ensure I achieve the goals I have set myself going forwards.

Amazing facilities recoveryhaus.au I cannot wait to see how this recovery centre really helps my body.

Maybe next time I will be able to get past waist level on them ice baths! Freezing 🥶 is an understatement.
