A lot of runners struggle mentally when they’re injured, but feel guilty talking about it because “it’s just running”.

But when you’ve spent years building your life around training, goals, races and routine… injury affects way more than just fitness.

I think more runners feel like this than people realise.

A lot of runners get injured a 2nd, 3rd, even 4th time. They end up thinking that they’re weak, when in reality, it’s that rehabilitation isnt always properly preparing them for the high demands that the sport needs.

The 5 biggest mistakes runners make when returning after injury.

These are the most common reasons I see that runners fall back into injury because of. There’s one answer to all of these problems, and that’s a good solid rehab plan.

Being injured as a runner SUCKS. You’re not ‘just injured’, you’ve temporarily lost a part of yourself. People tell you to give up and ‘relax’ because they don’t get how important it is to you that you get better and get running again - I’ve heard it a hundred times.

You need proper structure, from someone who understands what you’re going through. That’s where I come in.

Not being able to run sucks. Everyone was telling me ‘Oh looks like you’re out for the season then.. I decided that wasn’t going to happen.

I created the Runners-Return system for myself. To get me from having torn the ligaments on the outside of my ankle, back to top form in 12-weeks.

It worked. I PB’d, and more importantly - felt like a confident runner again.

Now I share my system with a select number of runners every month.L take my 3 phase approach, and apply it your situation, so you can get yourself on the start line, and feel like a runner again.

It’s their identity, their life structure, the thing that gives them confidence, momentum, and purpose.

That’s why random rehab advice or no direction at all feels so frustrating. You don’t want endless band exercises.

- Are they ready to return?
- Are they strong enough for sport?
- Are they confident enough?
- Are they prepared for the demands of their sport?

That’s what the Return To Performance Audit is for.
